Quoting: newballcoach

I don't see why this is a 3-way trade. Duchenne has an NTC, and Nashville gets worse by moving him. If Toronto wants to move that #15 pick for a D-man, I can almost guarantee it won't be for Dumba, who's too much like Rielly for them to play together. If Toronto needs to move Johnsson, they certainly don't need to attach compensation to him.

It's looking more and more likely that if a first gets traded it's the 2021.

I don't understand why people believe the Predators should try to be good. They are old. If they want to take advantage of Josi's peak, taking a year off, having more cap space to weaponize to bring in picks seems way smarter. The Preds are no where near close to a serious cup contender.

Sure. I was just suggesting they move freddy and go 1A & 1B style. Just went with an idea.

Don't know which part you are referring to but I only assume that you mean the whole thing.

NTC doesn't kick in until 2023.

Thread: Three 3-Ways

Quoting: Ledge_And_Dairy

Ok lets clear up what you have here
To Toronto
- Ellis
- watson

To Nashville
- #5 over all in 2020 (OTT pick)

To Ottawa
- Nylander
- NSH 2020 3rd

Ottawa get's absolutely fleeced here, Ellis > Nylander.

To New Jersey
- Gaudreau

To Nashville
- Severson
- EDM's 3rd (2020 or 2021 based on condition, from Calgary)

To Calgary
- Tolvanen
- Wood

This trade is absolutely horrid for Calgary, and also quite bad for Nashville

Third trade doesn't even make sense since you traded Huberdeau back to Florida

So... this isn’t an exact science.

TOR-OTT-NAH
TOR: Gets high caliber RH defender and a Kyle Clifford replacement.

OTT: Gets high skill forward. Could probably demand a 3rd from TOR but I don’t want to get too cheeky.

NSH: Gets of of a long term deal with Ellis while getting cap space and youth.

3 way #2 | NJ-CGY-NSH
NJ: Gets hometown boy and high skill to support two young centers.

CGY: Gets cap space and youth.

NSH: Gets a B level replacement for Ellis

3 way #3 | FLA-EDM-NSH

EDM: (THIS IS WHERE I MADE AN ERROR)
EDM get Hubey and Sissons. They desire wingers. Hubey is a easy fit with Conner. Sissons is an easy fit on a 2nd or 3rd line. He will be Leon’s or RNH’s Kunitz.

NSH: Gets B level replacement on the right side for Ellis. ( He mentors Farence, Ekholm mentors Fabbro, Josi gets Severson)

FLA: Gets affordable talent and saves money.

...

Threw pasta at the wall knew most noodles wouldn’t stick... really just looking for what the reaction would be. These trades all took me a lot of time and I cross referenced with the Trade machine tool to see if they would work for all sides. I understand they are not practical for every party for these 3 ways... just wanted to get the feedback on extreme ideas.
