Why do I kinda love this
Whitecloud is very underrated and with that gem of a contract no way Vegas moves him.
My opinion on Joki is he is a defender that does nothing spectacular on the ice. He is decent in pretty much every facet of the game but not good at any one particular thing imo. He is a great 3rd pair RHD with some untapped offensive upside. We should hold on to him for the time being as our RHD pipeline is nonexistent. However, when our team really starts to come together and be more competitive, he would be one guy I'd look to move for an upgrade.

I doubt he would have if we hadn't traded for Debrincat and created a core of five 1st line forwards between the ages of 20 and 24.
I just don't think its a smart move for Buffalo unless theres an extension in place.

Why would Buffalo give up those assets for a rental in a year where they're not making the playoffs

I wasn’t advocating for this trade at all. There is just no way that 13OA is on the table without significant add from the Canadiens.
I generally think that for forwards above 2-3 million, a reasonable rule of thumb is about .1million for every point that you expect roughly. (Some recent examples: Fiala 7.9 mil avg, 85 points; Bryan rust 5.125 avg, 58 points)
So with Anderson’s contract, you should expect ~50 points a season if you are getting fair value. Anderson’s career high was 47 points 4 years ago, and his next best season was 32 points. He is overpaid and has 5 years left, IMO I would not want him at this price.

Jack Quinn and 9oa ain't it. They are getting one or the other, not both.

That's analytic approach and I like that.
Fans are being affected by the media, Youtube and random distractions (for example from opinion of unqualified fan masses). Even capfriendly with its internal order significantly affects average order. The most absurd case in 2022 is Ruslan Gazizov, who capfriendly has at no. 21 or so. Therefore random fans are taking him high.
I've seen that before. Remember 2020? capfriendly was high on Simon Knak, Pavel Novak and Simon Kubicek. Therefore fans were also high on these players, many had them in first 2 rounds. In reality Pavel Novak went in 5th round to MIN, Knak went undrafted in 2020, he is NSH's 6th round pick from 2021. Simon Kubicek hasn't been drafted yet.

I like the idea of ripping off Vegas, but they're passing on that.
I'd just keep Oloffson rather than offer up him and Bryson for Comtois.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ledge_And_Dairy</b></div><div>move out 1 of Monahan or Lucic and they can fit everyone. That's it.</div></div>
Unsure if that would clear enough, I guess it would come down to Magia’s contract.
You start with 27mil in space.
Gaudreau gets 10mil
Tkachuk gets 9mil
8 mil left with 14 players signed.
Mangiapane gets at least 5mil maybe 6.
15 players with 2-3mil left
Kylington will want at least some money, let’s keep it simple at 2 mil.
So 16 players, 0 cap effectively with needing 2+1 Dmen and 0+2 Forwards.
So you are certainly close but you balancing on a very tight line and you’ll have to pay a team to take Lucic or Monahan off your hands due to your predicament.
So I guess you can squeeze in there as long everyone stays in the predicted salaries I made

I wouldn’t offer higher than a fourth round pick for him. Frankly I expect we can sign a better defenseman in free agency without giving up any assets.

TB only has 3 RD with NHL experience under contract next year trading their best player at the position seems a nit counters productive they'll win the Cup or not he going for a deep run next year. They also have a logjam at LD

Tampa declines. Cernak is too good and cheap to trade unless it's a MASSIVE overpay

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Tuch_Me_Daddy</b></div><div>Olofsson in top 6 isn't good thing imo, rather have space for younger more talented wingers and keep the top line as it is now, making Olofsson in this scenario a 3rd line winger. I think Ideall you have Skinner - Tuch and then Peterka - Quinn on the top two wings next year, Olofsson prob moves off the first PP and at that point his production will likely fall.
Any of this register my man?</div></div>
I get what you’re saying….
It still doesn’t make sense to trade a top6 goal scorer for a bottom6 guy who just bangs ppl around
If u want Olofsson off the team, then fine
Just trade him for something that’s actually of value!
And just so ya know….
The Sabres (to this point) won’t even consider trading Olofsson unless the return for him STARTS with a 1st round pick
Maybe they could be swayed if a good young player becomes available, or a RD they like to pair with Power….
But i can assure you that there is ZERO CHANCE they’ll trade him for some bottom6 toughness
