I mean it's alright, but can't see Chicago parting ways Murphy. He's too important to our B-line

I’m not sure how affordable Olofsson is but man. That deal is hard for me to pass up.

From my standpoint I'd be nearly willing to pay a kings ransom, he's exactly what the Sabres need and one of the few that's mentioned to be available that would fit. Not going to include a the Sabres own 1st, but would consider putting in a guy like Mittelstadt, Bryson, another pick or an additional sweetener.

Olofsson will likely get around 4m in the offseason. Elliotte Freidman mentioned that the Rangers were interested in him in a podcast. Can't see him fetching a 1st but this would be acceptable I think. Or a young RHD prospect.

Personally I'd be interested in John Peterka for Murphy. Reunite the him and Reichel

Yeah I agree with that contract but I just don’t know how to make room for it on our roster. I like Olofsson more than a lot of people but I just don’t know how to proceed after acquiring him.

Rangers decline. I can see one of our 2nd round picks but not both. Maybe add in a mid round pick or mid level prospect.

Oloffson can't score 5v5. He has no shot at PP1 in NY.
This is an overpay for something not needed in NY.

Now, if Buffalo takes back Nemeth - maybe.....

I mean, the Sabres don't need to trade him. I was just posting this based on rumors from Elliotte Freidman and trying to gauge roughly how much he's worth. The Sabres have all the cap space in the world, and if he doesn't fetch a reasonable return there's really no reason to trade him.

I agree with everything here, except what a "reasonable return". I wouldn't move him for less than a first. We don't need to move him.

How is Murphy available? He signed a 4 year extension with the Hawks a few months ago.

His name has been thrown around a lot, assuming because the Blackhawks are going to bring a new GM who wouldn't have signed him, and are seemingly going to undergo a rebuild in the next couple of years. He's a great player but doesn't really fit on the Blackhawks timeline for being competitive again. Then again, he might not be available - who knows? This is why it's called Armchair GM.

Just curious when you say his name has been thrown around a lot; do you mean on on here? It's not been thrown around at all by the analysts that cover the Hawks or by Hawks fans on here so what am I missing?

Personally I'd be interested in John Peterka for Murphy. Reunite the him and Reichel

And the Sabres would never do that

Peterka is nearly untouchable if I were to imagine, would take a lot to get buffalo to part ways he's gonna be a top 6 winger who can drive play from the edges of the ice which they desparately need....
