New 3v3 league with 30m salary cap
The Major League of Hockey could find a foothold with that type of financial backing but the gimmick of 3v3 and 24 minute games I think won't find as much of an audience for them as they think. Obviously this is geared towards a TV/streaming audience with that type of format.
I think they would be better served by doing a "real" hockey league with new rules implemented and 8 teams in North America in large non-NHL markets and 8 teams in Europe in the major markets there. They would attract better talent that way and probably engage more fans.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Turbo</b></div><div>I just think the narrative is over blown. All those guys have been relatively successful through most of their careers and become focal points because their last stints end poorly. There's definitely coaches that get an opportunity just because they've been around the block a few times but there's a large (or just vocal) group that frames that as the default approach of GMs or that its a significant road block to first time HCs which just isn't true</div></div>
I'm saying of course it's overblown... Most of the 'rehashed coaches' are the same 8/15 coaches constantly getting hired and fired, meaning they get put in the news and fans get tired of them and associate all of them together...

The Plan
I could see one of Arvidsson or DeBrusk, but not both. Would also target a different RD than Shatty. Need a guy who can actually play some D. Kurashev stays on Bedard's wing until that chemistry goes away. Anderson likely gets signed before Entwistle.

Preempting the league’s ruling (before the actual hearing) with coach complaining that the league is targeting the Leafs is childish.
Players responding by calling for more violence in the league is just dumb.
Where are the adults?

They got a second for taking on his contract... He's producing at a decent rate considering that
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NorthernLeafsFan05</b></div><div>That player draft was the perfect example of why the NHL will NEVER gain any traction on the NBA / MLB. Zero personality, zero marketability, zero energy. It's honestly a little embarassing, every player on the ice is so robotic. We've got such a fantastic sport, but it's like the league tries to make it as unentertaining as possible</div></div>
They need to find a way to incentivize personality and fun... It looked like they were too scared to make a mistake
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Saskleaf</b></div><div>I think the NHL had a great idea with this. The only problem is the players executed it in the most boring way possible. I think Buble was the best celebrity and he actually added a lot to it. Arnett and McRae were fine, however Bieber may as well have not been there. Nothing again the guy but it didn’t seem like he participated like at all. They also picked bad announcers/hosts, nothing against David Amber but they needed someone else here. Let me throw a hot take out there and say Coach Chippy, him hosting it would actually be so sick (heck make it Coach Chip and Kessel. Lol)</div></div>
I think they should have gone with guys like Nasher, Chippy, Barber and Bell as the celebrity Allstar captains tbh... Would have had the SC crew (Bissonette and Whitney) running the whole thing and would have made a rule saying you can't draft a player on your own team... (So, Hughes can't draft Van or NJD players, Matthews can't draft TOR players, etc.) And would have made draft picks available to trade as well to incentivize trading up and trading for your team's player (So, Matthews could draft Georgiev and trade him and an 8th round pick to Mackinnon for Marner and a 3rd round pick for example)

So maybe trying to get out in front of some of the "offseason" contract stuff/headaches?
Dickinson has 15G's so that's a keeper these days, only 2yr deal so it'll age well and no 'extras' so he can be moved if required.
Mrazek can at least be a vet-mentor (low grade I get it) and again only 2-yrs on the deal.</div></div>
If you have guys that fit in well and are the type of guys that you are trying to build a culture around, why not just bite the bullet and resign them? At least as far as Dickenson is concerned.
Mrazek, I'd probably flip, BUT do you want to enter the off-season desperately needing a goalie as a rebuilding team when you already know several other teams who will be highly competitive will also be looking for goalies shuffling this summer? It's a gamble that you won't be left without a dance partner.

Chicago has been quite competitive. I bet it’s hard to be a rebuilding team night in, night out. It’s nice to find guys like Mrazek to give your team a chance to grow, and it’s good for Mrazek as I’m guessing he’s getting a bit more $ (like Corey Perry and others) due to the situation. Win win!

Elvis Merzļikins requested a trade but no team was interested. He's an NHL caliber goaltender who's contract is similar to Campbell's. I think the price to dump Campbell just went up with Elvis Merzļikins on the trade market.

Detroit Red Wings signed Patrick Kane (1 Year / $2,750,000 AAV)
I'm surprised how many 'no' votes there are. I know he's had injuries, but it's a 1 year deal, and Detroit still has quite a bit of cap space to potentially add another big name rental at the deadline. And even though he didn't have a very good year by his standards last year, he was coming off of 4 consecutive seasons where he had over a point per game, and he was still on pace for 60+ points last year. If he's healthy he's easily a top-6 forward, probably a top-line forward.
And hey, if it doesn't work out, it's only 1 year.

Let Edmonton buy him out.
Three years at $5m for an AHL goaltender… it’s going to hurt to get out from under that deal. Two conditional 1st round picks (top ten protected) and either Holloway or Akey. Edmonton doesn’t like the price find some other team with cap space and deep pockets to take Campbell.

Not even close, Campbell’s contract takes at least 2 x 1st round picks to move.
I would suggest Campbell, Holloway and 2024 & 2025 1st round picks (top ten protected) for Mrazek and Katchouk.

It's a bit early for that, Ovi has 3 years left under contract and he needs 73 goals to pass Gretzky, Ovi needs about 24 goals/year to reach it, that's very much obtainable for Ovi

Yeah. For sure. They are much more like fans than journalists. Which is fun and they seem like good dudes, but I do not consider them authorities on the Blackhawks in any way shape or form.
