There are a bunch of these trades that are a roster player (Krebs or JPP) and picks for Hanifin. I honestly do not think that the Sabres are even interested in Hanifin because he needs a new deal next year when the cap starts to get a bit more real, especially true when you count Dahlin's and Power's extensions coming up.

Hanifin
Copying my comment from another post with the same trade:
Sabres are probably not interested for a couple of reasons.
1) They have a log jam at LD and are probably looking for a defensively minded RD to pair with Power. Speaking of Power him and Dahlin are going to probably getting signed to 8-year deals this offseason (8x10 and 8x8.5 or something) so do they really want to add another guy who is also in need of his big contract at 26.
2) Krebs has been coming into his own and has definitely rounded out his defensive game this year. He is also cost controlled for a while.

Boosh is likely not a top pairing defenseman, he was good on the Sabres 2nd/3rd pairing with limited minutes while playing hurt for most of the year. Also I would honestly be very surprised if Buffalo is willing to deal him because he is one of the few defensively minded physical defenseman on their roster. If this deal were to go through I would expect either Joki or Bryson and another day two pick to be in place of Boosh.

I agree, there are definitely some cap strapped teams that need to move a better center than Henrique. Also if GMKA moves a cost controlled first line wing in Tuch he should be fired immediately. Even if hypothetically he were to be traded I don't know that trade is even value.

Strictly Hart Trades
You'll get Rosen or the first not both from the Sabres. Honestly you would have to take one of the goalies (not named Levi) that the Sabres have in order to make the deal work.

Hellebuyck would probably want significantly more term, probably looking at a 6-8 year contract, otherwise he will just walk to UFA status. Also I don't think that trade is good enough to get him from WPG. We would probably need to throw in a couple more assets to get it done.
Also where is Kyle Okposo? He is signed next year so I would imagine that he would be in their lineup. Also Middelstadt is going to be playing down the center at least at the start of the year.

Yeah he said no to a trade to the Sabres last offseason. It was a really good trade for the Sabres too. He might be willing to do it this offseason now that they appear to be turning the corner to contention.

There is literally no chance the Sabres send an A tier prospect and 13 OA for one year of Tom Wilson. He’s a great player and honestly exactly what the Sabres need but not at that price. I’d think you are looking at a couple of lower tier prospects or some of the Sabres 2nd rounders.

What picks? The Leafs would need to send at least a couple more picks to make this work. To start the first next year and both thirds and I still don't think the deal is close to being done. Tage is cost controlled on a team friendly deal for 7 more years. Marner is walking as a UFA in 2 years.

I don’t like the Yotes trade at all. Why does everybody want to trade JJ. You’re going to need to keep some of these players on ELCs and bridge deals when Dahlin and Power get their contracts.

Easiest no from the Sabres. Why trade two cost controlled young players for a forward who is one year from UFA. Also DeBrincat will not play the role that Krebs does.

I thought this was serious when I saw the Sabres trade, then I saw the penguins. My comment about the Sabres trade is still. Sabres easily say no. Krebs is a part of the future and they won’t trade that for one year of an aging defenseman.

I bet he might but it is something to consider. As a Sabres who lives in Pittsburgh I wouldn't mind the trade to see what he has left, especially if he only costs a 6th and a 7th.
Also I just noticed that the pens just waived Kapanen.

Dumolin would have to agree to waive his M-NMC. I would imagine that Buffalo is on that list of teams that he would not want to go to.
