Ooooh yeah that would be a dream. But I can't see FLA letting him go. I read that MTL isn't interested in Carter Hart. When I read that I was like WHY?!?! I think Carter Hart is very much what MTL needs. a goalie who would be part of the rise of the Habs. MTL would have their core forwards, their franchise goalie. now build the D corps and you have something really good there.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JoeROFLCOPTER</b></div><div>Agreed. If I'm in Florida's position I take that risk; they don't have many assets to trade to acquire a goalie through trade and I doubt any of the top guys hit FA.
Knights trade stock is already low because of his issues, too. I think the best course of action is just betting on recovery and to not trade him barring he demands it.</div></div>
I think the thing to focus on for Florida is Knight is just starting a 3 year × $4.5M deal... Bobrovsky already carries a $10M cap hit, do they really want to invest that much financially in Knight hoping he will rebound? They are in the cup finals right now, surely if they think they are ready to compete for a cup right now they could do more with that $4.5M when building a roster.

I agree, 100%. Goalie trades historically don't offer the value for the goalie, so IMO, the Flyers shouldn't trade him. The assets you're gonna get back for him will never be equal to what his value is. And you may be just as likely to not find another goalie for when you finally are competitve.

I think moving up from 37 to 28 is going to cost a substantial amount. Probably the MTL 3rd + a decent another pick

I appreciate the in depth post.
To comment on the Leafs trade: moving up 9 spots into the first round is worth an early 3rd round pick, and possibly another later pick. Based on what the org has done in the past and other draft pick trades recently.

Top10 in saves above expected and signed dirt cheap next season at 1M. He was a promising netminder in Florida that seems to have found his game but he's a goalie so who knows, could be another Raycroft or Jim Carey.
I dont pay anything worthwhile for a goalie that isnt named Vasilevskiy, Sorokin or Shesterkin. Guys that are proven and young otherwise develop or acquire in free agency. Dobes needs some games in the AHL as well. Trading Primeau could be an option soon</div></div>
<a href="/users/VladislavTretiak" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@VladislavTretiak</a>
Cayden Primeau shutout last night in the AHL and Jakub Dobes signed yesterday. The goalie options are numerous for MTL and they probably draft a goalie in the 2nd round this draft with one of the Gajan, Hrabal or the American goaltender setting records in the NTDP
Not only is it unneeded to give up assets for PLD (it will happen tho) but it's also not in the Habs best interests to overpay for a goalie on the trade market with their current options available to them internally.

Off Season Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Windjammer</b></div><div>Not a chance Winnipeg does that as it is completely one sided in Montreal's favour.
There is zero chance the Jets wait 3 years for the only piece of the deal that has any value.
Mailloux has severe character issues and would definitely be something Winnipeg passes on.
Anderson is a cap dump to Winnipeg. He's not good enough offensively to play in the top 6 of a good team and is too expensive and not good enough defensively to play in the bottom six. Montreal would need to add their unprotected 1st in 23 to dump him on Winnipeg.</div></div>
Well good, because this is the stupidest trade for habs. Anderson has plenty of value to the organization and league-wide, Mailloux is going to be an absolute stud 2nd pairing RD, and giving up any 1st rounder for a guy who will eventually just chose to come to montreal for free in MAX 2 years is a waste.

Boeser for a 1st is funny stuff when every insider says that he needs to have money retained and at best the talk is a 2nd round pick. At best. The Habs dont need to move bad money like Hoffman just to fit in more bad money with Boeser.

Kane is owed almost no money. The 25% is like 200k. This is also the apparent offer.
