Lines if Kane gets suspended
3 forwards not playing get paid more than the 12 forwards playing. Add to that a 5.75M backup and another injury to our 11.5M defenceman. It's been a hard season to watch for sure.
The only positive is as the talent leaves the roster, the work ethic seems to increase. Those 2 wins in Alberta last week were two of the hardest working games i'd seen in a while, and if guys buy in the system we can hopefully do something similar to Columbus, assuming Dell stays hot. Just like last years game 7, it's not over til it's over.

Why do you have Labanc getting more than Meier? That's backwards.

What would it cost sharks
Hertl is as untouchable is San Jose as Aho is in Carolina.
Next year Aho will be making 9+ and Hertl is signed for 5.625 for 3 more years, Aho may be a bit better but when factoring those numbers in value is a lot closer.

Pack the D
Even if LA were to accept, Kane would likely block the trade with his NTC. He's happy in SJ, and its taken a while for him to find a home where he feels comfortable in the locker room.
Also, if you're giving Pavelski 5 years, I think it's fair to say the cap hit will be lower, maybe 6M or 6.5M . I can see it being around 7M for 2 or 3 years though.
I see Braun having positive value @ 3.8M but i dont think you're getting a package of picks like that with Dell or Melker, who may have negative value on their current deals. I hope I'm wrong, Doug Wilson pulled off magic last season with the whole Boedker -> Hoffman -> picks deal, maybe he can do it again.

Babs fired Sheldon Keefe promoted Nylander traded Realistically
"I tried to retain half but it didn't allow me IDK why"
Yeah I assumed so, and saw your other comment. I think your other evaluations are accurate but I think Marner gets 8 years 80 million max. He is obviously elite but I think the Leafs are the victim of the media over hyping their players, similar to Nylander. I assume he gets a deal comparable to Mikko Rantanen and KD will wait until that happens and use it as a comparable.

I can't see Marleau going back to San Jose but just for arguments sake this is what would have to happen for it to even to a possibility.
-Karlsson leaves
-Pavelski leaves
-Leafs retain 50%
-Leafs add a draft pick better than the one they receive
Marleau's game being built on speed is degrading faster than Thornton, Chara, or any other older guy in the league. His production will take another hit next year and San Jose doesn't need a veteran pro to father their prospects. Marleau is one of my all time favorite players and even I don't care to see him back at this point in his career, Sharks are old enough.

Skins for Kessel
I like the Stastny signing, finally seeing some realistic numbers there. Other teams consistently undershoot UFA's value, you didn't make that mistake.
Also, you're trades look well balanced. I would add a note to appease Oiler fans that there 1st round pick is lottery protected, because they like to win the draft so much. ;)

cup contender
I don't think you realize how good Hertl is if you're willing to pay Chris Tierney more than him. He was probably the Sharks best player this postseason.

3 Year Plan - Year 2
I agree with Larkin about Doughty. He's the guy that held out as an RFA over $200,000 and missed training camp and 5 exhibition games. He will take every penny he can get and with the cap likely to be around 83M when he's a UFA I think he will end up getting around 11M per year.
I think you're smart to lock up Provorov for 8 years but you may not need to go so high with most of those years being RFA years.

Trading Toews, signing Tavares
Toews has a full NMC so he probably says no. Not to mention his 10.5 cap hit is nearly unmovable since he is only about a 55-60 point player who is only going to further decline through his 30s. I would put him as one of the worst contracts in the NHL and you think you get a return like that for him? If you want Toews gone expect to retain 20% of his contract and find a contender he would be willing to play for, and even then, don't expect much back in return.

Potential Jets Roster
"It's no secret I'm a Shark," Thornton said "I bleed teal and I want to come back and I know I'm going to be healthy when I come back. I'm sure we can figure something out, but I want to come back."
Doug Wilson also said he wants him back. He's not going anywhere.
Re-signing Stastny would be more realistic.

Canucks 2018-19
I'm excited to see how Pettersson turns out next year but you still have some shopping to do. If the cap goes to 80M the cap floor will be 58M. You need to spend some money before the season starts.
Sharks would happily give you an asset or a pick if you take Paul Martin's 4.85 cap hit off our hands. Otherwise Bozak or Stastny may be a good fit if the price is right.
