Edmundson to PIT
Since the Dubois trade happens in the 23-24 year and Dvorak 8 team no trade list kicks in, what are the chances that WPG is on the 8 team list?

Definately an overpayment for Dubois but if Montreal (or anyone else) wants him, the payment should be a 1st and 2 solid prospects. If Montreal or anyone else don't do something like this then don't come knocking on the door. Or gamble and wait till next year when you might be able to get him as an UFA.

I'd prefer they upgrade the second pair (in a real meaningful way) to have two good pairs. 44-2 can get some easier matchups then, and could likely take advantage in the Ozone more often</div></div>
I don't think DeMelo can consistently play top 4 minutes. Demelo is having a good year but that is maybe because he is paired with Morrissey. Just hope Chevy can get rid of Schmidt's contract and sign Severson in the off season.

This would be a fantastic deal for the Jets. Schmaltz is really good and underrated playing in ARI. We may have to give up one of the big three forward prospects though to get him (Lucius, McGroarty, Lambert).
I think the Jets also trade for a D though. I hope it's an real impact guy but I see more of a depth piece being the reality</div></div>
Like you say, need that impact guy to pair up with Morrissey. DeMelo just isn't that guy.

Barron is worth a 2nd and Gustafsson a 3rd or 4th. So if Montreal can get more I would be surprised. This might be the best offer and since these are 2 ufa's on a non-playoff team you might as well accept the trade.

I agree with you about many Montreal fans but if this trade happens at TDL then they would not be cap dumps. Healthy Monahan and Drouin will help with a deep playoff drive. I am a fan of Barron but this is the year.

DADONOV TO EDM HOFFMAN TO WPG MONAHAN TO LA DROUIN TO NJ
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MisstheWhalers</b></div><div>Yeah I'd go for Monahan if healthy and cheap enough, honestly if cheap enough I'd grab Drouin too, the Jets bottom six is useless and frankly both Wheeler and Perfetti look out of place alot of games, having a couple more middle six pieces to play with might help in finding some secondary scoring.
I agree but there's just no RHD available that can handle top pair work unless NJ decides to move Severson by the TDL but that seems unlikely, will have to settle for a lefty who can play on his offhand. I'd sink assets into acquiring Chycrun if I was Chevy.</div></div>
I wasn't thinking both Drouin and Monahan but yeah if the asking price isn't too high then it would hopefully solve the forward issue.
If WPG is to sink some serious assets then it would be for Chychrun. Chevy has to show that this team is a true contender to Scheifele and Hellebuyck to get them resigned. I think Dubois will get traded in the offseason so this is the year. I am hoping most Jets fans would be happy if Chevy pulls the trigger on some big trades.

If there was an indication that Monahan would be healthy for a playoff run then I would go after him first. Adding some offense to that third line is needed. Maybe a change in scenery is what Drouin needs so if he comes cheap and MTL wants too much for Monahan then maybe?
That right side of WPG's defense needs an upgrade. Demelo just isn't top line material.

From what I am seeing, NJD is looking for top6 help. With Hamilton and Marino in the top 2 position on the right side making Severson tradeable. I think Garland is a good option. I think NJ could pick up a cheap 3RHD for the playoff run.

So what is the deal with Olofsson? Winnipeg would be all over this trade. Schmidt's contract has more term and a higher salary and he is playing 3 line D. Play Heinola with Samberg on the 3rd pairing and find a cheap pending UFA like Schenn for the playoff run.

Actually I was thinking more like Severson for DeMelo and a forward like Appleton or a prospect. Unfortunately no one will take on Schmidt contract without asking for more and we should not be giving up on Pionk. Think NJD is looking to acquire a decent forward but I don't know if Appleton fits. DeMelo would fit great on 3RHD with less of a salary and signed for 1 more year. Looks like Severson will hit free agency if he doesn't get traded.

Starting to think if WPG were to go for it then this year would be the year. This lineup is pretty solid and the numbers do work but would WPG be able to get Toews and Kane? IF we could get a Severson instead of Schenn and somehow make the money work then this lineup would be even better. Tall order but why not try (OK dream).

Much can change in 2 years. Perfetti should be ready for 2C meaning Dvorak would slide down to 3C which WPG has a few of so Dubois for 2 years or until next years TDl makes more sense then trading him for Dvorak.
And on record I believe the Dubois camp has said that he would like to play for Montreal and would like to test free agency. So WPG just has to get a long legged blonde or brunette to cuddle up to Dubois and maybe he will think about resigning in WPG.
