Dvorak out

Created by: Wpgman
Team: 2022-23 Winnipeg Jets
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 28, 2022
Published: Jul. 28, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
There has been a very good point made about trading Dubois for a package for Dvorak. We have Dubois for 2 years and if he doesn't resign long term then we trade him next year at TDL and should get a good return. If we trade for Dvorak now we only have him guaranteed for 3 years. I'd rather have Dubois for 2 years than Dvorak for 3. Dubois>>>>>>>Dvorak.

Can I interest you in Joel Armia?

I have to agree with you there. Montreal fans get really upset and can't tolerate it when you point out reality to them, but this is 100% correct.

I guess the silver lining for Jets fans is that if the deals that are always proposed here, over and over, as "fair" actually were fair, the deal would have been made long ago.

i disagree, no one is arguing dvorak is better than dubois but dubois has no interest in staying in winnipeg. So the longest you'll have him would be next years deadline. Odds are you won't be getting the better player in a deal for dubois since he has pretty much said he only wants to play in montreal so you'll be taking picks, prospect and cap hits, which means you'd only make that trade if you're not looking to go far in playoffs at next years deadline. So with that thought in mind you'd either be looking to win the cup this year which right now doesn't look good for winnipeg or you'd move him right now and get the most you can for him.

Wow. Two completely erroneous assumptions in this ramble.

WPG could potentially sign Dvorak to an extension if it works out, they would have 3 years to see if the fit is mutual.

I disagree, keeping Dubois and "seeing how things go" is pointless, he needs to be moved and the drama of him moved on from.

This team has a 2 year window to do something. Scheifele, Wheeler, Dubois, Helly, and others can become UFA's then. Can't see Chevy tear this thing down until next years TDL. Trading them now means that Chevy has failed in the minds of Jets ownership. I don't see nothing happening unless it is upgrades.

What assumption isn't true? That winnipeg won't win the cup or dubois not wanting to play there?

Yeah and montreal would be wise to just wait till hes a free agent in another year anyways. He will be primed to jump into 2C for them and they won't have to give any assets for him. They can get another high draft pick this year which hopefully they use on a dman and really start to make a push to be a contender

Much can change in 2 years. Perfetti should be ready for 2C meaning Dvorak would slide down to 3C which WPG has a few of so Dubois for 2 years or until next years TDl makes more sense then trading him for Dvorak.
And on record I believe the Dubois camp has said that he would like to play for Montreal and would like to test free agency. So WPG just has to get a long legged blonde or brunette to cuddle up to Dubois and maybe he will think about resigning in WPG.

I dont get why they dont tear it down albeit moving players like Wheeler may be impossible but you must move players while they have value in a flat cap world. This team isnt as good as the 2018 edition and you have powerhouse teams like St Louis and Colorado in the division. The worst thing you can be in this league is average. Either be very bad or very good. Detroit tried to be average for years, same as Chicago and it sent them back in their respective rebuilds.

He made some long winded story about meeting up with his bankers in Mtl for the draft. A trade was in the works. You dont go for sushi with your fiancial advisors in a suite at a place that will just lead to speculation. These guys want nothing to do with hockey after the season. Hell, PLD is known as a wannabe Home Depot employee in Winnipeg.

Yeah that interview and story was total nonsense.

Who cares that he says he hasn't requested a trade when his and his agents actions are trying to force one.

Idk if you were meaning to quote my comment but there's no chance he's letting Dubois walk as a UFA and this next season isn't going to be some going all in one for this team, far too many clouds around it to be that, hell they couldn't even get Danton Heinen to sign with the Jets, its pointless to keep a distraction around any longer than necessary especially with the culture needing a change.

I just don't see Dubois getting them a better return at the deadline or next summer, the entire league knows what's going on.

The Jets have already charted the course for Perfetti to be a winger so that's what he'll probably be.. lol

The Jets have needed a 3C upgrade for years!

Pretty sure someone said his girlfriend is from Winnipeg.

He knows he will get booed out of the building if he's not traded, just setting up the grift
