what would be coming back in these packages
A late round pick for Kubalik 50% retained (a 4th at the highest). Or Jack Hughes. :squinty
A 2nd rounder for Bran or a player of a similar age with a similar contract that's struggling to fit in the lineup. Or Simon Nemec. :squintytongue

Kubalik is worth next to nothing right now, Branny is like a late 2nd at most but more likely a 3rd, so maybe like a 3rd and 7th would work. Could retain some as well to make that 7th a higher pick, say a 5th instead.

canucks fans would you accept this
It's an interesting proposal. Canucks drafted Willander because they view him as a top pairing defenceman and a future partner for Hughes. He's practically untouchable, the only way I think they'd consider moving him is for a young top 4 D with term who they view as basically a further developed Willander who can partner with Hughes on the top pair now instead of having to wait 2-3 years. Chychrun, if they were able to work out an extension, could potentially fit the bill. The potential big hangup would be Chychrun being a lefty and Willander a righty, Tocchet doesn't like pairing same handed defenceman so I'm not sure Vancouver would want to partner Hughes and Chychrun together long-term.

Vintage Phi-Ott proposal
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>athrin</b></div><div>Laughton, Scott is not worth a top 10 pick, he is not worth Greig 1 for 1, and he is not worth Joseph 1 for 1, this is a total and compete rip off that the NHL would block</div></div>
For context this ACGM is referring to a poster that was constantly suggesting this trade almost daily in September/October and then appears to have disappeared. He was a firm believer the sens would have to overpay to get rid of Joseph so they had money for pinto.

A Norris Trade Without Any Salary Dumps
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caniac2000</b></div><div>I wouldn't do this for Norris. He's made of glass. If we're going to take a run at an Ottawa center, may as well pony up and try to land Stutzle. Take a run at Pinto since he'll be cheaper, take a run at Stutzle for starpower. </div></div>
Norris had one injury. Attempted to rehab it without surgery, then re-injured it.
For whatever reason, the Sens haven't run the powerplay that Norris scored all those goals from all year. If you set him up in a mirror image of Washington's PP in the flipped Ovi spot, he'll get a pile of PP goals.
As far as Ottawa's other C's:
1. Pinto won't be cheaper to aquire. Should be more than Norris, actually.
2. I don't think Carolina actually has the assets to make a run at Stutzle.

Not to mention Sheary has a NTC this season and there is no way he'd waive, especially for Ottawa.

Quality second pair guy, good on the breakout, great skater, really good at joining the rush. His shot is nothing special, and he's a little soft in front of his own net, but all around a really solid defenseman at 4 mil for 2 1/2 more years

5 acceptable ways in which the Stars can pay for Tarasenko
If Dallas is looking at Ottawa it's probably Chychrun, not Vladdy. And Chychrun is the only way they'd be able to land one of Stankoven/Bourque. If they're moving him, I'd rather them go for one of them who can contribute soon than a late 1st who needs 3+ years to develop

Avs Offseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Xspyrit</b></div><div>It also doesn't work for Ottawa. They already have to trade Brannstrom at some point to make a spot for Kleven. And they also have the Chabot vs Chychrun debate
Girard is not the type of player and body the Sens need to add on defense.
Sanderson - Zub
Chabot/Chychrun - ??????
Kleven - ??????/JBD/Guenette
Also, Forsberg is better than Korpisalo, just has run into injury problems a bit... Unfortunately Dorion was a really bad GM and went after the wrong guy, or at least gave him a contract with too much term
If the Sens make that trade, they would then have to trade Girard and find another goalie. If you think you can make a significant enough profit do it but that also doesn't really happen this way in the NHL. Teams trade from a position of strength to fill a position of need or make a simple "hockey trade"</div></div>
Yeah I’m speaking for Colorado specifically. Setting aside individual team needs, the value isn’t there.

Moving Timo
Love Bahl from his 67s days, but Ottawa definitely should not be considering moving Joseph. Joz is exactly the kind of forward Ottawa needs more of. Speedy defensive/PK stud who can produce in a top six role (19G, 51P pace). They aren't finding a better use of 2.95mil than that. He's got a good thing going with Stützle, and if he's not in the top six he's a great 3rd line checker too.
