That trade makes zero sense for Tampa.

I'd probably do the Ottawa trade though.

Umm... Fast is in no way a cap dump... he's a very good defensive forward and a good bottom sixer

Fast only has 1 year left at 2.4 AAV, he's not a cap dump, very useful 2-way player, he's a bit like Joseph although not as good

This is a very good trade for Ottawa, a 2nd and 2 useful bottom-6 players who would make the team better than Kubalik.

I'd do this in a heartbeat

Easy decline for Tampa Bay. Trading two players w/ term for a pending UFA makes no sense at all.
