Sabres have 0 reason to do that. 0 chance UPL signs that too.

OTT declines, that already have 4 LD on the roster, no room for a 5th

Sabres trade probably doesn’t work for Colorado and definitely doesn’t work for Buffalo.

I hate the Girard trade. You’re getting a 2nd and a rental goalie for your 3rd best defenseman. Nope!

    Sabres decline
That would be stupid of us to even consider

    UPL > Georgiev
    Mitts > the futures

It’s not even close- just a TERRIBLE offer really

That’s giving Girard away, then it’s a trade that doesn’t make sense for BUF, then it’s a completely unrealistic contract for UPL. I mean at least you were consistently bad.

What off ice issues, you mean the drinking problem that he manned up and got help for? The Sens do it in a heart beat because the value is stupid in their favor (COL never does it), Girard gets ragged on CF for because of his height, but the dude is a legit top 4 guy that plays in all situations. Go back last night and watch him on the PK at the end, that was some beyond stud work. But tell me again how the Sens wouldn’t trade a run of the mill goalie and 2nd for a 25yr old top 4 dman, who by the way is a top 4 dman on arguably the best d-corp in the league.

It also doesn't work for Ottawa. They already have to trade Brannstrom at some point to make a spot for Kleven. And they also have the Chabot vs Chychrun debate

Girard is not the type of player and body the Sens need to add on defense.

    Sanderson - Zub
    Chabot/Chychrun - ??????
    Kleven - ??????/JBD/Guenette

Also, Forsberg is better than Korpisalo, just has run into injury problems a bit... Unfortunately Dorion was a really bad GM and went after the wrong guy, or at least gave him a contract with too much term

If the Sens make that trade, they would then have to trade Girard and find another goalie. If you think you can make a significant enough profit do it but that also doesn't really happen this way in the NHL. Teams trade from a position of strength to fill a position of need or make a simple "hockey trade"

Yeah I’m speaking for Colorado specifically. Setting aside individual team needs, the value isn’t there.
