Just as I stated in the trade's description, I don't think it's very likely but I just couldn't think of a better trade partner in Scheifele's case. I believe NYI would have the same approach as CAR btw</div></div>
Agreed on your last point - there was a rash of "Scheif to NYI" ACGMs a week or so ago and the point I kept making is that the Islanders currently have 4 centers that aren't in a position to be moved, and who haven't really played the wing. Adding Scheifele means that one of them is going to play at a "new" position and I just don't feel like that's a good use of your assets (also worth noting that I don't think the two teams line up in terms of what the return for Scheifele would be.)

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>betahuman</b></div><div>Agreed. I didn't consider NSH at first since it seemed to me they are stacked on C but they could teoretically play Granlund on wing. Might come with a Scheifele / NSH trade later though. When it comes to NYI I can't think of the returning value either.</div></div>
I just think of them being a player being desperate to get back into contention and firing Trotz after one bad year makes me think they could make other rash moves.

Myers is a pylon, meanwhile Burns puts up 50+ points, doesn’t miss a game and plays top 3 minutes in the league amongst defenseman. Very much the raw end of the deal for San Jose

Wouldn't be interested in adding Stanley with our abundance of LD of similar quality coming through and the 2nd isn't close to Stromes value IMO.

I liked the pickups as well. I wouldn't move Pionk. He looks like he had a tough time after his concussion. I'd like to see him again with better coaching.

Thanks for the feedback. You really think Ellis is on a bad contract? Some D last year received some ridiculous contracts (9+ Mil) I feel like in 3-4 years the cap will be up 4-5 mil and it won't look so bad. I also feel like in 3-4 years you could buy him out or trade him if he wears down. The Van Riemsdyk isn't a bad contract at all when you look at the big picture. He only has 1 year left and then you are free from it were Wheeler has a couple more years on a higher value. I guess you are talking about Konecky's contract? I don't mind that one either.

Change it to Mercer and Jersey's choice of their first in 22 or an unprotected 23 first and Winnipeg calls you back.</div></div>
I doubt the devils would consider trading 2-5 u20, cost controlled assets for so few years of control on at least 1 (maybe 2 though I do really think Hellebuyck is elite) aging and declining assets
If I had to bet on a big name goalie, Helleybuyck is below both Lehner and Gibson in who I think the Devils would be interested in

A Winnipeg fan proposed trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Windjammer</b></div><div>Very unlikely the Jets do that. First Wheeler isn't waiving for Philly and second the Jets won't want to take back 2 older players with bad contracts if they move Scheifele. It defeats the purpose of moving him.</div></div>
Idk man, I see Wheeler as a bad contract at this point and moving him for JVR would open up 8 mil of cap space for the year after next. Schmidt for Ellis is a potential upgrade on D and then we get Konecny and a 1st for Scheif. Run Dubois, Connor, Ehlers, Konecny, Perfetti and maybe Stastny, Svech, or JVR in the top 6, Morrissey, Ellis, Pionk, Dillon, Demelo, Samberg on D. We save a bit of money next year and especially the year after, plus potentially get better with the shakeup and gain an unprotected 1st round pick.
I really wouldn't hate this trade. It'd be sad to see Scheif and Wheeler go but this team needs a culture change.

Nah. Jets fans go crazy and say, (almost always with the word literally) how they don’t need anything except a top pair d man that they expect in trade for some reason.

Strome's a forward who put up 22 goals and 48 points this season (would've been 4th among Capitals forwards) and has scored at a 51 pts/82 GP pace for his career. In what world is he not a top 6 guy?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Birtle34</b></div><div>My only issue with Dubois, is the need of a 5 yrs ago scheifele or 1a to Dubois 1b or at least a 1b to go with Dubois. But just scared of Dubois not quite being scheifele effective and never ending search for little or an upgrade of little for 2c.</div></div>
I actually agree when it comes to the whole C situation and being unsure about Perfetti. But I think there’s one player a lot of fans are overlooking. Chaz Lucius. There has to be something there that the Jets saw after 1 year of college to sign him. He said he was in contact with Jets development staff all year long. They must see something they really like if they feel he’s ready to jump into pro games. People forget he was projected to be a top 10 pick before he got hurt, and all indications point that he’s fully healed and is no worse for wear.
