Hawks 2020 flat cap- SaadNylander NYR Trade
Hell no we are not trading Saad and Nylander for Georgiev. We wouldn’t even do either one straight up, not a chance.

What would Domi cost
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>math731</b></div><div>Well, he's our best forward and a 70pts potential player... ARZ traded their 7th oa and a great prospect (Tony DeAngelo) in 2017 for a second line C and a number two G. You wont get Domi for Strome thats for sure. The only reason we'd entertain a Domi trade is because we're already stack at C for years to come... No point in trading him for another C who's had one great year so far in his career after being a 3rd oa choice.</div></div>
You could say the same about Strome, easily a 70 point potential player and he’s a true center. You won’t get a top 10 pick and B prospect for Domi, not one GM would even consider that.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SlickWilly</b></div><div>I just dont see the point in trading Strome if we are doing it for another forward who is going to be an RFA. The basis of trading Strome would be to acquire someone in a position of need (LD) or someone that has a low cost or future cost certainty. Swapping him for another RFA forward doesnt make sense because Strome has developed chemistry with kane and already has chemistry with Debrincat. So to me we dont trade him unless it is for an LD or picks/prospect</div></div>
I would agree that a LD would be most ideal. Truthfully I don’t know what kind of young D we could get for Strome though, most teams aren’t willing to move defensemen

Lol that’s cute. Domi isn’t worth a lottery pick and decent prospect but good try.

Compliance Buyout Plan
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChiHawk</b></div><div>Why in the world would you use a buyout on Maatta? He only costs $680K for 2 years to buy him out...makes zero sense. You should never trade your biggest buyout candidate at a cost like a 2nd rounder if a compliance buyout was granted.</div></div>
Maatta was just the obvious choice, Smith has one year left and could fetch something at the deadline. This was only if the Hawks wanted to bring Seabs back next year. You’d have to trade him to do so. It might not cost a 2nd rounder but it would be worth it. The hawks keep a leader and the cap hit is now under their control. You don’t have to give up too much since we always have the option to buy him out. Again, this is just a scenario if they wanted to bring him back, so yes it does make sense.

To be fair, you don’t know what was offered even a week ago. Last deadline or the draft was the time to trade Gus when his value was at its peak. Definitely a shame but he could really help out Calgary or whoever he signs with in the offseason. He can easily play top 6 minutes and quarterback a powerplay.

What a joke. Either way, doubt Kane waives unless it gets really really really bad in Chicago.

Number 7. Plus everyone knows Carolina is looking for D and Gus is cheap

Carolina Trade idea
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caniac2000</b></div><div>That's still a no from Carolina. In terms of analytics, Reimer has been as good as if not better than Lehner, and the base stats aren't too far apart. Why would Carolina give ALL OF THAT for a negligible upgrade? People don't realise how good Reimer has been. As for gus.... meh. There are options, but if it's a reasonable price I don't mind trading for him, but I think Hawks fans and canes haves have a very different feel for a fair price</div></div>
You consistently use the same talking point that Carolina doesn’t “need” a goaltender. Whether this true or not, it has already been reported they are interested in Lehner whether you like it or not. They are also shopping for D and a good amount of cheap defensemen have already been moved. This proposal makes sense based off all the reports even if it doesn’t fit what you like.

Carolina side
You never know. If Carolina is truly trying to win, then this a move that makes them deeper at the two most important positions for a playoff run. The price is high, yes, I’m sure some sort of extension could be discussed prior to the deal. Either way, Carolina keeps both first rounders to replenish the loss in Bean.

I like them, tough to split up the Cat and Strome, though. Each have played their best when on the same line.
However, not a bad idea. I think Nylander would be better off playing with Strome and Caggiula. Even better, Shaw comes back.

Don’t think he gets moved though. The Hawks will never fully rebuild, too many guys from the core that will retire as Hawks. Either way, if we’re retaining $1.5M for 4 years, it starts with a 1st and someone would definitely pay it.

Not a chance you get a top 4 D at $4M and Chicago retains salary. Doesn’t matter if he’s 35 there’s no chance.
