Deservingly so. They make millions of dollars and give out a piss poor effort. Laughable. If they had any respect for themselves they'd turn out a good effort, instead they're collecting their free money since they aren't doing anything for it. Send them off to Robidas island with Horton, Clarkson, Hossa, Seabrook etc. There are younger players out there that would kill for the chance to play in the NHL, and actually give a damn. And these losers are collecting free money to do nothing. God it upsets me as you can see.

Looks fine to me. Probably most logical assessment. Cant wait to see Seider, Veleno, Rasmussen, Svecnikov etc for their 9 game trials or so. They'd be hungrier than the vets we have now who add no value to anything. Useless bums like Nielsen, Abdelkader, Filppula, Green, Ericsson should all be sent to Robidas island. They should be embarrassed with their efforts. Losers.

I don't mind this. Maybe Turris and Mantha can rekindle their world championship chemistry. Apparently redw1n9s is the smartest man on this website, id like to see his ideas. Only thing id change is keep Nemeth, good #5 dman and don't sign Krug who probably signs with Boston anyways. Another year and they might be knocking on a WC spot. But this team looks like it could hover around .500 for this year. And really you cant get any worse than this year.

Instead of crying like the little b*tch you are, why don't you offer what you think Is fair? Desmith has played 50 games the last 2 years, hes better than Howard and probably just as good as Bernier. Athanasiou is a whiny, selfish, crybaby whos -35 this year as well as a - the last 3 years. Galchenyuk needs to restart his career, maybe one of his last chances at the NHL. He has something to prove, and can probably play centre better than AA. So since you're the smartest man on this website, id like to know your offer for AA, b*tch.

Figured Veteran leadership going down the stretch and into the playoffs. Probably his last season, or at least should be. Is value close at all? I have no idea about Desmith other than his HockeyDB stats. But Galchenyuk for Athanasiou as the main pieces might work for both teams.

I believe Caleb Jones to start. Whatever additions I don't know. But seeing how Athanasiou and his agent dealt with Holland in Detroit, I don't see a good fit, especially past this year. But EDM needs some scoring help, and a little more forward depth in their bottom 6.

Something around Athanasiou + Cholowski/McIssac for Sergachev. Who adds? Who says no? Do they want to make an in Division trade?

If you have #1, you take the best overall (Lafrienere) regardless of position. Detroit has fallen 2 spots in each of the last 3 drafts, I don't expect to get #1 overall but hopeful for #2 and Byfield.

I agree. This years a write off which is fine. Hopefully the NHL gifts us a top 3 pick for once, like bigger market teams Chicago and New York magically did last year. Lafrienere is the cream of the crop. If we don't get 1st I agree Byfield would look pretty good behind Larkin. Perfetti could be a good player too almost Patrick Kane-esque. Trade Green hes looked horrible. Svech has impressed me with his small sample size, looks confident out there.

Svech has impressed me thus far on the small sample size. I think he'd do well on the 2nd line if given the opportunity. I hope Veleno pans out as a #2c, but he might not quite be there next year. But again, let the kids play, whats the worse thing that could happen? Cant get any worse than we are. In hindsight Hughes over Zadina should've been our pick in 2018.

Helm, DLR and Abby have actually been the better line consistently. They are the only players who have been on the ice and not scored on. People don't like these players but they seem to keep the puck out of the net. They have been a hard working gritty line and we should be keeping them playing together.
Once AA puts the puck in the net they will be doing a lot better. he had about 4 perfect chances last night that he should have scored on. every game he has at least 2 chances where if those go in. its a whole different game</div></div>
I agree. Green has been hot garbage. I switched to a 2nd, on a prayer. Athanasiou tries to do it himself way too much. He needs a centre that can make plays badly, Flip and Neilsen don't cut it. And I think if he wants more than $6,000,000 he should be traded. I trust Yzermans plan, but lets move some pieces out and let the kids play

UFAs usually get overpaid. Need a steady right handed Dman back there. Schenn could be a good possibility too. Marner doesn't want max term deal, will be interesting to see where it goes.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rednwhite</b></div><div>I like the trades, they seem to make sense to me. I think the Wings would have to add a little more to the deal to get both Bear and JP, maybe a late 2nd or 3rd. Callahan deal makes sense. I don't like us taking Podkolzin though, if we move back I would like to see us take Broberg or a non russian forward. Scares me a bit that he is staying in Russia for the next two years.</div></div>
I also thought Detroit could add another pick, maybe a 3rd, but I was hesitant. Wanted to feel it out first. As for the Russian forward over Broberg, I was initially going to take Broberg. But then I thought Yzerman and his Russians (Kucherov, Vasilevsky, Sergachev, Namestikov) would take Podkolzin and wait the 2 years out and hope hes the next Tarasenko or Panarin. Guess we'll find out tomorrow night.

making the playoffs is it possible
I like the ideology of it. But I also think the values are too low. Trouba - $7,500,000. Gus $6,000,000. Kronwall $3,000,000. Donskoi $3,000,000. Nothing more than a bubble team unfortunately, but as we saw with St Louis this year, just make the playoffs and anything can happen.

DENIAL I get it
I don't mind the Kadri trade. Laugh fans are getting too caught up on what they 'expect' to get in return for Kadri. His attitude come playoffs suck, hes been suspended or fined 7x. Not only does getting rid of Kadri free up any headaches, HE CLEARS CAP SPACE. Cap space is worth good players and picks. They need space for Marner Kapenen Johnsson. So I don't mind the Kadri trade, and Winnipeg should definitely accept, solid 30 goal scorer who can play defense.

I personally wouldn't do the Buffalo trade, Risto is a turnover machine and AA came into his own last year. And id try to swap Cholowski with Bowey, then add another player or prospect (Helm retained? Rasmussen? Better picks?). I don't mind the Zaitsev trade, maybe try to pry a better pick for taking on salary. Beauty of this site, anything can happen.

Sheahan is a Babcock type player, had his best season under Babs. The key with any Kadri trade is any trade that frees up cap space is a bonus, even if you have to take less than expected. Besides hes a hot head who cant control his emotions when it comes down to crunch time. The leafs are in cap Hell, if someone has better offer ideas then maybe they should run the Leafs because Dubas is screwed.
