IDK De Haan was basically traded for Petersson's contract. So it's just one year and then they can cope with the contracts extension in 2022. So I just wanted to move that contract.
RHD is weak, but they can play some LH Def as RHD or sign idk... Niskanen?

Current Potential Lines with injuries
Rodrigues-Blueger-Tanev is a scary 4th line. They can check and they can score.
I think they will try to play Marleau with Malkin first. Simon is useful only with Crosby. No room for him now I think.
And Marleau can improve situation with the face-offs. They are both skillfull players who can take advantage of the skillet and style of play I hope :halo

You forgot about Bellerive who is more of a natural center than those you've mentioned. Oula Palve? Looks like we've got Bluegers now as a 3C. But they could as well trade D for C at some point.

Pittsburgh top 5 prospects
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AFOX10900</b></div><div>He's the future 2C, higher ceiling than Poulin and way more NHL ready imo</div></div>
Let's just see how he'll be played on his new team in SEL. The past season he was a top line winger in a team finishing last being relegated. I've read somewhere GMJR saying they see him as an energetic.. Winger. It's up to HC obviously.
I personally hope they develop him as a center and agree that he'll be more valuable as a center if he's comfortable with that role. Would be great if he became a good two-way center in two years. He would have been actually playing with pro men for 5 year and would be ready for the regular NHL in a role and capability say like Staal had his first year with the team.
I'd be happy to have him as an elite 3C with an opportunity to become a regular 2C and then take Geno's place when Malkin days with the Pens are over. Btw Poulin has some style shades of Malkin I with trying to be creative and not hurried in moves. He could substitute Geno in PP1 playing that similar style.

'Good 4th, Liner' @1M is not a center! Could actually be there 'Projected to be a 3C, A young 4C' @750k. And I think he could be 13th... And I'd probably rename that one @3.5M to a '13th Forward, Played at TOP6'.
'RIP, Cap Space' @4M is just 'But not fast and is overpayed, Good big 5/6DD', could live with it though.
It's interesting, fair and overall realistic to me, thanks

The team seems so desolate to me. I'll miss Rust and Hornqvist and Bjugstad and Simon. Too many new names won't make good imo. Can't argue the trades are not fair though but from the Pens side I don't like that one with Rust. Lastly if I had that capspace I would go after Gusev not Puljujarvi.

Yeah it might hurt to see Smith coming but it actually means we have him for only 1 year in case of lockout (and pay him 1M in real dollars that year). In case of JJ we have that 3.25 longer.

If Gudbranson is gone I'd like to see Stephen Johns (back healthy) coming here first not Dillon with 1y left on his contract. Rust is a valuable asset not a cap dump to add a pick to him in a trade for a rental.

Can we even make the playoffs this year And do we even want to
Probably won't tell you smth new but JJ, ZAR and Jarry are the ones could go first. ZAR can be replaced, Jarry is simply not needed anymore here. Jarry and ZAR could fetch a prospect/3rd if traded separately I suppose. But I wish GMJR could package them with JJ and avoid using a high pick.
I think Bjugstad and Gudbranson could be mentioned. ...and it's the lockout in 2020, and them both having 2y left on contract. So maybe they should trade them sooner rather than later and get a better value? But the org should first see that Blueger could become a 3C and replace Bjugstad. And Gudbranson played not so bad that season and I'd personally want him to stay.
That's a sure thing the competition in Metro has become even more tough you said it. I think they should balance the lines to cope with that. Make 4th stronger with Rust you did there and 2nd too maybe with moving McCann to Malkin. There are also guys with the expiring contracts so expect motivation I hope?

What's the point of signing Tanev? I do not know. Tanev is often injured, so I shaped that way. He would come handy in playoffs. Dumoulin-Letang, Brodie-Tanev, Petersson-Rental D. They just need that defensive defender. I do not know a better fit being available.
As for swapping young guys... it's just a matter of taste and time only will tell. I see at as it stans now by their readiness. It could be anything the next season as well. But it could be Poulin-Malkin-Legare if they are developed the right way.
I don't know about Pavs, I would place Angello much higher on the depth chart. Blueger could be a nice 3C option with Hallander on the wing (he played a wing on a top line last season). Bjorkqvist-Blueger-Hallander could be great young energetic line, agreed.

Like all the trades. Maybe the last one with NJD is a bit excessive. We've got many wingers being more talented than Hayden. If you do that to get rid of Gudbranson I would rather keep him at the moment. Only if in case of cap issues...
But overall it's a good job. You can even regroup the lines and have potentially equal 3 scoring lines being mb more balanced than those during the Kessel's Era. Really nice.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Yojimbo</b></div><div>No, he isn't. At all. People are so blinded bY wanting to get rid of Johnson that they are willing to suggest anything to get it done, even making the team worse overall just "to move Johnson".
That leaves Puljujarvi. What has Puljujarvi done that makes you want him? Not that you have seen 50 other AGMs trade for him, what have YOU seen that makes you want him?
The answer is nothing. Ziltch. And you are trading Rust, Reese and Jarry for him. For ziltch.
... just for this obsessive need people have to eject Johnson from the roster.
You gave Puljujarvi $1.5Mx2, which is gross overpay for what he brings to the ice, but I doubt the Oilers would match that anyway, so just Offer Sheet him and get him for free.</div></div>
People are born to make mistakes. I like how you've written about it. I liked how Puljuyarvi played in juniors, don't think it could vanish. If it's his hockey IQ then forget about it. The team needs now a right-hand shot scorer, so I thought he could suit that need. There cannot be many options.
But I really don't know what's wrong with Russell, numbers are average. Maybe you could tell what that package would get (distractedly): a D, a prospect, pick?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pharrow</b></div><div>Let me just correct the record here.
Russell better than Johnson is very debatable. Personally I'd rather have neither. But at least I know JJ can play better when he doesn't have to spend 4/5 of the year on his off side.
Rust is not replaced. Odds are low Rust is being moved. The more likely player moved is Hornqvist. Rust fits exactly the way they want to play.
ZAR being injury prone is laughable. Missing a month for breaking his hand on someone's head isn't "injury prone"
Jarry will be traded not waived.
I don't know where people get these ideas from.</div></div>
Thanks for the reply, seems like it's fair to say 'I think' when it comes to a personal opinion.
Think Russell is basically better to have on this team for 2 years than JJ for 4. Or just buyout one I guess.
Hornqvist for your notice has a NTC contract @5.3M till 2023 when he'll be a 36y power-forward. I'd like to hear a case scenario from you when he's moved. I'd appreciate that as I cannot imagine this.
ZAR has had a concussion and with the way he plays I'd be very hopeful that incident was the single one. I liked when he was attached to Malkin and Kessel but would propose he'll be a bottom forward here because right now there are other wingers with the more advanced skillset (Kahun, Galchenuk). On the other side there are a lot of young wingers in WBS making ZAR expendible. I like Rus as well as you but see him as a valuable asset other parties could be interested in and we could replace with less problems.
As for Puljuyarvi I'd say that proposing JJ for JP is either trolling or being a silly proposal. Rather keep JP than accept a cap dump for 4 years. JP has shown skills on a Laine-Aho-Puljuyarvi line but Edmonton used him in a limited role of bottom 6 for 13 mins. If you say a 4th rounder nothing I'd be OK with that bc many team will take a chance to gamble on him for that price.
Last. Jarry has to be waived to play in AHL or they will be stuck with 3 goalies. I would say there are not a lot of teams in need of an unproven backup goaile (Jarry) to trade for. I can guess San Jose and Calgary maybe (better have an experienced good backup for a projected playoffs team). Can you propose your version of a trade? I'll counter PJ for Jarry by now.

I don't know. Anaheim fans will probably say they've got their D in Del Zotto for 750k. Klefbom is on good contract till 2023. Schultz will be UFA, is as much as 4 years older, and will demand 7M per year I would imagine. So it would get much more to get Klefbom.
I'd place Hallander to the untouchables list as we definitely will need talented centers in future especially that quick and two-way specialists proven in a game with adults as Hallander.

Actually I thought about Manning in a smaller deal with Johnson :grimace Sounds like a desperate move, doesn't it? I don't think it'll be easy to get Benning in a small deal perhaps a little easier than to get Nurse in a blockbuster deal?

Russel is better than Johnson, isn't he? I've seen him play much, just look into his stats.
We've got a logjam actually with those forwards in WBS waiting for a chance. I would risk with former talented 1st rounder and move the cup honestly.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>iFishyHD</b></div><div>We're worse off after that trade.</div></div>
Strategically we are not.
Russell is better than Johnson. And has only 2y term left.
Rust is already replaced with Tanev.
ZAR is injury prone.
Jarry is gone bc has to be waived.
So we've got an experienced defensive defenseman to compliment offensive one Schultz, a former 1st rounder (@4) who wasn't nursed correctly and who would benefit on playing top6 and a 4th rounder for a player who can be substitutd, a prospect who's gonna be paid, a young goalie not needed and a pure cap dump.
