If it's an option, would much rather the Jackets keep Laine in Columbus.

Metro Division - Whats the price
For Jiricek - An equally high potential, single RD prospect in the 19-23 y/o age range
For Marchenko - An equal potential, single RW in the 19-23 y/o range or as part of a package for a superior, single RW in the same age range. Would also have to be in the event that Voronkov and Chinakhov are also being traded or have returned to Russia.

They were predominantly behind the rumors in November too. I think Vronk has friends there and when he says he misses the motherland, they think there is an opening to try to get him back. However, there is really no substantial evidence that he wants to go back. He has stated he loves Columbus and his teammates and is getting more comfortable in America.</div></div>
The rumors of him going back in November were legitimate enough that Jarmo directly addressed them in the media. He's also well beyond his out clause now though so I dunno how easy it'll be for him to leave if he really does want to.

Any sources? I definitely heard those things around November, but lately it's all been how much the Russian trio are enjoying living in the same building and are thriving.

Lately? Haven't heard anything about that since early in the season when all his family and friends in Russia told him he better stay and not blow the opportunity just because he was homesick.

So for KJ it's a negative to get AHL games, but for Podkolzin it's a positive. Ok.

Define "bouncing around between the NHL and AHL". He has had a single stay in the AHL of 10 games. Also, how is playing 130/149 games he has been eligible for as a 21 y/o possibly seen as not holding down a spot in the lineup? Also, one injury does not qualify as injury issues, it would be injury issue. Also, still waiting to hear how he is disgruntled. Last I saw of him he was chilling with Fantilli watching Home Alone movies or something and having a great time.

first round redo. based on progression
Chinakhov dropping in this draft is pretty funny. He's 9th in goals scored, 11th in points, 11th in games played, and was drafted 21st. There's zero reason for him to drop in any redraft.

Sensical Off-Season Plan
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ryminister_92</b></div><div>As mentioned in the description - if Columbus is to pick at #4 and they're already satisfied with Jiricek being their future #1 guy I could see them trading down a few spots to get another pick. & in this scenario it's not like they're moving down 10 spots and only picking up a 3rd to do so. They're moving down 4 spots while still picking up another late round 1st round pick, and still picking a pretty sought after prospect at #8 in Lindstrom. Doesn't seem like Columbus is losing much of the talent for only moving down a few spots.</div></div>
I don't think that logic follows. Teams go with BPA almost uniformly no matter what they already have in the cupboard. Nashville would be a prime example of a team that didn't stop picking defensemen just because they already had solid dmen in their system. Eventually they traded one for a center that they badly needed.
For this deal to make sense I'd want something like 8 and a pick in the 10-14 range. Late firsts are wildly overvalued and very often turn into nothing.

I'd rather have the Sharks side. KJ might still work out, but the Sharks pick is almost guaranteed top 3 and their 2025 pick might be real high too.

Sensical Off-Season Plan
It's weird how the majority of CBJ proposals on here have them downgrading their top young players or picks for more depth. It seems like the most common knowledge thing about the Jackets is that they have no star players, so I don't get why people expect them to just acquire even more lower quality parts. If the CBJ have a chance to pick high they're the last team that's going to trade that chance for depth.

How Much is Jiricek
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CD282</b></div><div>LOL. You need to know that you aren't the authority on this.</div></div>
I know I'm not. I'm just sharing with you how every credible analytics group compares young players. The way you want to compare them you're giving Broberg 5 more months of maturity, plus an extra pro season since being drafted. The way intelligent people do it would be giving Jiricek 7 months more maturity and zero extra pro seasons since being drafted. One way is simply better than the other.

Sad that you have to try to make it personal when I'm just trying to educate you on how players are compared by seasons since their draft instead of by age.

Cool beans. Doesn't change that that's not how players are compared. Jiricek is in d+2 so the comparable season for Broberg is his last season in Sweden.

You're comparing Broberg's d+3 season to Jiricek's d+2 season.
