C Prospect Options for Nils Lundkvist
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Shakabakes</b></div><div>I would happily include either of them. Even with a slight sweetener, if be.
Not because they're bad options. I know LHD is of greater need to LA.
But Lundkvist has what is considered the best pedigree of the 3, mainly due to his Draft status. And considering Turcotte has that same Draft pedigree, I was honestly trying to keep things as fair as possible.
While I feel Jones is more well rounded, Robertson brings the size advantage that other teams will always find appealing.
Which would you think LA would take for Turcotte? And what, if anything, that would need to be added?</div></div>
This is one of those "if the team does it, I'll go along with whatever management thinks is right and fair" situations. I could live with Turcotte for either young defenseman with NY adding anything from zero to a third-round pick. The fact that Turcotte's development has been so stunted by injury reduces his value and proportionally reduces the likelihood that LA will give up on him this soon.

He seemed to finally turn the corner a bit this Season. Especially considering how crappy the team was.
Arizona basically needs everything. And while I am sure they love Hayton, they will probably nab some new Center and Forward Prospects if/when they trade Chychrun.
Not saying Lundkvist is Chychrun. But there is some young and cost effective D help for the next 2 years of his ELC.

Sure, might limit the return but they're essentially overpaying here or even paying to move him, cant see that happening.

Mega Deal
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kap97</b></div><div>As a Rangers fan, I agree it's a bit too steep for my liking. Trouba is coming off a great season and is in his prime. The lifecycle of the contract is the only thing that might hold Detroit back from adding but honestly I'd trade Trouba straight up for a 2nd round pick. No Bertuzzi, Zadkna, Kakko, Chytil, etc. You're getting a bona fide 2RHD to play big minutes behind Seider for just a second round pick. I'd love to keep Trouba but we need the cap space and we have Schneider and Lundkvist.</div></div>
I made sure that the Rangers overpaid to move Trouba because the last few years of his deal with hurt whatever team he plays on. It is hard to pay a 2nd pairing dman 8 million. I think Detroit would move a 2nd for him if the rangers retained 2 mil. I love the idea of Detroit trading for him though, he is exactly what they need right now.

Hawks wouldn't (and shouldn't) trade Dach for multiple assets. They probably shouldn't trade him at all. But for Kakko, who is in a similar situation but has a similarly high potential ceiling, I think they should do it. And the Rangers should do (need centers).</div></div>
I can see where you’re coming from but I don’t think the rangers are going to give up on him unless he wants out.

I mean yeah...there's time, and I haven't denied it, but Kravtsov is still WAAAY behind of your examples here in pretty much every regard.
For now I will say he's a bust and the remaining four is still open for debate. At least they're all regular NHL level players, and I can't say the same about Kravtsov.</div></div>
Not sure why you are referencing games here. That has literally nothing to do with being a bust or not. Kravtsov just went to Russia and had a monster season.
You can play 1000 NHL games and still end up being a bust if you're a 4th liner the entire time. I'd rather a first liner who plays 300 NHL games than a 4th liner who plays 1000.

How it all went down warning long description
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kap97</b></div><div>Totally agree with your offseason to do list. I do think Drury and Kravtsov put the past behind them though and he comes in to be the Buchnevich replacement he was meant to be.</div></div>
FWIW, a little harsh regarding Hunt. Due to his salary he does have a little value as a 13F or injury call up...but overall, excellent analysis top to bottom. Although it suddenly has become interesting to see which way they go with Kakko- for me the interesting thing this off season will be how things pan out with Nils and Krav. This team is "stuck" with Trouba at least another 2 years and does seem committed to Schneider. I wouldn't mind seeing if Nils is effective on the left side.
As far as Krav: his situation has been handled poorly on both sides....but I put more blame on him. I don't love how the NYR org has treated certain prospects...but can not side with a prospect who took the org to task in his exit interview regarding off season training- then gets hurt in the ensuing camp with an injury most likely linked to conditioning! And then takes his ball and goes home- a 2nd time! But the thing is: NYR need him and he needs NYR. Unless his opportunity to fill one of the gaping holes on NYR RW would cause a problem within the team -esp from players who've paid their dues- Drury and him have to bury the hatchet and move on...both could benefit in a BIG way.

Reality is, we are way ahead of schedule. Now the "learn to lose before you win" experience. Igor will be 1-2 going forward, our young stud Ds will only get better. Bread, Zib, Kreider, Goodrow will carry on. Kid line will improve. Blais will help. Othmann, Korczak, Cuylle, Berard, Robertson, Jones, Lundkvist will move in. Again, way ahead of schedule, but ya we'll be solid. Just need to MacGyver C, depth & Cap.
We just happened to lock up our core while rebuilding. As opposed to an a OTT/DET/... where it's nothing but kids & picks and years behind. What's better in the long run? We'll find out in 5 around years!? Either way, we'd be signing Kadri/JTM up for 7x9m which is certainly no better! This year was just Gravy anyways. Enjoy our future rides though!

Having a top 3(probably #1 in all reality) G is a step ahead of every other team. Having a great PP is a step ahead unless you are up against Vas or Saros. The youth will improve and the older guys will adjust and be support and experience. I wouldn’t say they lose in the 1st round moving forward. The leafs have more firepower then the rest of the league but can’t get through a round because they lack certain things that we have. Are we bad defensively? Oh yeah. Is the D made up of kids? Oh yeah with the exception of Trouba. Are we going to be the next Dynasty, no, but conference finals will happen in the next few years easy.

Shesterkin is the best goalie I’ve ever seen so I think they’ll make it back at some point… especially considering they lost to the second best goalie I’ve ever seen. Yeah that team kinda blows though and I don’t trust the GM to do smart stuff to make them not blow

The fact of the matter is, they weren’t even supposed to go this far with this group. We had a starting lineup of U24’s one game of this series (G3?). It’s a little premature to say if this is the farthest they go don’t you think?
A top four of
Miller/Lindgren-Fox
Miller/Lindgren-Schneider
Would instantly be one of the best in the league.
