I always speak for myself. If you can say Detroit accepts or declines then so can I. You're no better than me. And neither one of us is Steve Yzerman.

Deadline push
This seems really fair for Giroux. Philly gets a first, a middle 6 guy that is on a good contract for a couple more years, and a defensive prospect who his ceiling is a Top Pair defenseman in the league but the Avs don’t have room for him. But, I could also see Kaut, Bowers, and almost any other prospect other than Barron and maybe Olauson.

If Bergeron Retires
I can't see the Bruins trading Marchand but it would be awesome to have him. The problem, of course, is that Landy isn't really a center so now you don't have a 2C but if they have Marchand, they don't need Bura so they can maybe re-sign Naz. It's an interesting thought experiment.

i like the value but i doubt bruins ever move marchand. after all the statements he has released about how much he loves boston and won't leave till they tell him to retire, i would find pretty disrespectful if they did trade him if he didn't want to be move.

If he can ever get healthy and get a regular shot I like him. He has an ability (sometimes a liability) to play up (or down) to his linemates abilities. He just needs a consistent role and shift.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ledge_And_Dairy</b></div><div>Lucic's contract sucks but on the ice he is a positive value player, as in he is by no means a liability and does give the team chances to win. For example since coming to Calgary he's had a pretty solid GAR and WAR in both seasons, and currently sits above replacement level (baring it still being early in the season). He is also a locker room leader and a well liked guy overall by the team. Being on a bad contract does not always mean you are a detriment to the team. If he was a free agent this most recent summer he could have probably earned somewhere between 1.5-2.5M on the market.
Where are you getting your numbers here for Toews and Andersson? Andersson's PP1 time has mostly been this season and about 50% of last year, he has a 0.533ppg after 15 games right now. Last year him, Gio, and Hanifin all split time on the man advantage as Calgary spun their tires most of the season. Unlike Andersson, Toews has also never played for a team that was struggling, his first year in the league was when Trotz took over the Islanders and then was moved to Colorado (another juggernaut).
Here is an example of how Andersson has done so far this season:
<img class="for_img" src="https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FDMcXOFXMAgH95-?format=png&name=900x900" alt="FDMcXOFXMAgH95-?format=png&name=900x900"></div></div>
He can be a positive impact player on the ice and still be a negative trade value player because of his contract. I think that applies in this case
I was just looking at PP TOI for last year (I took it from hockey-reference but its the same data everywhere). Andersson had 2:44 PP TOI/GP while Toews had 1:43 PP TOI/GP. Thats 59% more PP time per game than Toews and he still produced significantly less.
Andersson's had a good start and seems to be producing more on the PP so far, but its still kind of early to draw conclusions after 15 games. Im not saying Andersson is bad or anything, I just think very highly of Toews (imo top 20 D in the league) and I think theres a pretty sizeable gap between him and Andersson

I dont pay for evolving hockey or Jfresh or anything so these arent completely up to date, just the most recent one I could find posted on twitter. Toews was pretty close to the top in GAR among D when that tweet was made and is in the 98th percentile in WAR
Hes only played 3 games this year (with 1.00 P/GP so far :) ) but I bet he will make his way back up that GAR list quite quickly again this year

I think 10-11m is the magic number for Mack. Point signed his 9.5m extension. And they are only 1 year difference in terms of year, age drafted etc. If Point is getting 9.5m, Mack even leaving money on the table is around 10m IMO

Make the 1st conditional.
Starts as a 2nd: Habs make the conference finals with Kadri playing 50% of the games, it becomes a 1st.
If Kadri gets suspended during the playoffs, it becomes a 7th. :p

Avs never really bothered to give Bowers proper development or a shot which is a shame for a guy drafted in the 1st. I'm not sure the Jackets would give up a 2nd for him but maybe if they threw in Henry too?

The Avs almost always carry smaller rosters because their AHL team is extremely close by. And it isn't cap cheating if it's allowed.

He is still a winger, not even a ppg winger. That Sandin is your best prospect is more an indictment of the system than a declaration of how good he is. Did you miss what CHI gave up for Jones AND then signed him to an extension, and don’t even try to go well Jones is better than Girard because he isn’t.
