Exactly already been through this type of **** where prospects think they don’t have to develop in the AHL to learn the North American game if they aren’t NHL ready. It’s not a great start for team to know they getting a difficult prospect. Honka and Nichushkin pulled this crap, Honka just didn’t pan out even when he caved in and came back to the AHL, Nuke already had a bad relationship with the team resulting in him getting a minimal role rather than giving him a chance to play with younger players Hintz and Dickinson at the time they just relegated him to the fourth line minutes. Really he just needed to be traded before he cane back from Russia to give him the fresh start.

No thanks, Gurianov is a poor mans Laing and they could get more out of him putting him on a line with 2 offensive but still responsible line mates and there’s no need for another one. This team needs effective playmakers and skilled puck possession guys. Already lots of guys that can score when tee’d up.
Also that first line... In no world are Laine in Gurianov ever playing together 5 on 5 no coach is that dumb.

For a guy that has statistically been one of the better puck-moving, offense-driving defensemen over the last 4 years, the Stars will get more than a 1st round pick & an inconsequential 5th round pick.
Look at what Seth Jones got and use that as a template. Dallas should 100% be able to get a late 1st, and some combination of good prospects and other high round picks for Klingberg</div></div>
Maybe for a sign and trade, was hoping for rental and getting another chance at him in free agency, some of these big ticket UFA defense are not really living up to their $ (Jones and Peteranglo). And who would be able to swing that cap wise (out of the competitive teams I wouldn’t want him ending up in Arizona, Buffalo or Jersey). For a rental I don’t know how much teams are willing to give up the point is something rather than nothing and getting him on a top 20 team (out of the central) at least.

Meh I think he’s a solid second kind Center and a power play staple, had 25 goals in the short season on a team that struggles offensively and his game hasn’t really changed he’s never been a speedster but can snipe, tip, one-t, whatever.
I just think Hall just needs someone to play with, who knows maybe they can get Kreji back before the free agent deadline (like the Canes with Justin Williams) so he’s not away from his family the whole year but gets another cup run in.

Maybe, but basically a starting point is 1st rounder plus another pick or prospect. Better 1 first then none if we can’t get him to resign. Which might happen rumors are they are close but Nill won’t go higher but he’ll bend come close to free agency if he’s still GM. I also think as Stars fans we are a bit attached to Klingberg and not always objective. Everyone wants their cake and to eat it too so they value their first round picks (just like we value our players) even if they’re not rebuilding.
I’m sure two firsts or a first and a top d prospect would get tons of the “x team easily declines” 4 word posts.
As far as Radulov goes a late first rounder (Radulov is more valuable than Foligno a he pulled a first). I’d be find with an early second rounder if a contender has some one else’s pick.

1st round picks plus prospect or later pucks for Pavelski and Klingberg, 1st for Radulov (if Seth Jones and Foglino are bringing in 1st round picks, I don’t see why not) hopefully at least one or two from teams that think they can make it but miss playoffs and the picks aren’t lottery protected.
Could also retain salary to sweeten the deal since they are all UFA anyway, with that money still coming off the books at season’s end it doesn’t matter for us cap wise and could help the other team cap wise and spending wise.

I think everyone declines that except maybe the Islanders if they don’t give up a first round pick as part of the deal.
For the Stars way too much to give up for a rental that would only crunch the cap more if extended.

Adding another Fin
No thanks. Laine is the only Finn currently in the NHL I’d say wouldn’t fit in on this team. Even our Russians backcheck a little (Sometimes to the detriment when Radulov doesn’t give up and gets a weak call stick penalty), Laine is horrible defensively and was streaky scoring playing on a Jets that let him play the way he wanted and just put defensive responsible line mates with him, that probably wouldn’t fly in this organization.

If it comes to that - Deadline Selling
I’d think Pavelski would garner a first before Radulov (who also has a 15 team no trade list vs Pavelski’s 3). Klingberg would bring in a good haul and if this team is rebuilding he’s probably not someone who you want to lock in so he’s still there in a few years and I think he would test free agency in this sell season scenario if not moved. The trick would also be to try and get firsts from teams that might also miss playoffs and get more potential lotto chances for the next 2 drafts.

Gurianov probably worth a middle first round pick right now (Vancouver will most likely finish higher this year). Maybe a late first and an additional pick or prospect.
In reality if a team wanted to target him wait until next year when he’s RFA (and the Stars likely extend Klingberg to one of those overpayment defense contracts like Jones got) he could be moved as a cap casualty rather than lose a guy like Oettinger, Robertson, Hintz, Heiskanen etc.

Getting all the Wisconsin born vets I like it. Seriously though he would be a good deadline rental if there was actual cap space and Bishop would on LTIR not allowing to take advantage of accruing enough by deadline. It probably wouldn’t be as easy as it should be to make cap space as Nill wouldn’t trade Khudobin and Sekera based on his thoughts on goalie depth.... and they are really attached to Sekera.
I guess them signing Raffl and Glendening is a sign they’re not confident in any of the prospects making the team out of camp. So why not get a proven gold scorer like Kessel, Arizona would probably give him up to the highest bidder.

No. I’d trade Gurianov for picks (when it comes down to choosing cap casualties during the years of a probable Klingberg extension) not a player already on a big deal there’s too many if those here already. They also Kinda need Bishop until Oettinger is fully ready for the starting job. I think Nylander is just a bit overrated mostly due to the attention he gets in Toronto and their play style, he wouldn’t be as big a producer playing the right way.

Oleksiak, well good on him getting paid, not the contract you want when Benn, Seguin and (next year) Klingberg are all going to be taking close to 10 million then Miro at about 8.5. There’s no way he fits now he’s getting paid almost as much as Lindell and is no where near as good defensively.

I like Sillinger but I think if Detroit or San Jose doesn’t take Walstedt and if Lucius or Lysol (or both) fall then I see the options being less favorable. At 14 I’d like Sillinger and think he could last that long, don’t think Lysell (with his attitude issues)and Lucius (with injuries in his draft year doesn’t give a full picture)are really appealing if they’re going to gamble might as well go after Aatu Raty if they’re going to gamble on a guy with a bad season or Ceulemans as they don’t have an immediate need for a prospect right now and having a RHD potentially coming up in the system would be nice.

My bad I didn’t mean 18th pick. I meant Lysell probably falls out of the top 10 because of his attitude (demanding trades in Sweden when he not even 18 years old, just more of a comment on his maturity or whatever compels someone who is beginning their career to have the attitude of veteran who’s earned a bit of a say in where they want to play). Misunderstanding there sorry bud.
Ceulemans is a great pick at 18 too I could see him going earlier and wouldn’t mind if Dallas picked him if McTavish, Sillinger and Chibrikov are already picked. I’d rather him than Lysell (as Dallas doesn’t usually have success handling attitude problems) or Coronato (who s lot of people were high on but he’s committed to Harvard so he’ll probably go all 4 years then he can wait 30 days and become available to anyone almost like a UFA like Vesey and Hayes did) or Lucius who may be inaccurately rated due to injuries but probably not the worst option either.

Trade up if Clarke still available Mascherin Borque orHarley on table
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Amplifys</b></div><div>this is just awful</div></div>
What would make it work then? Is this from a Dallas fan “we need to keep our precious players that we drafted” usual bs. Really everyone really overrates their favorite teams players and future draft picks.
Or is it and underpay for Columbus in your opinion? Add Mavrik Bourque or Adam Mascherin or another prospect? What is enough to trade up in the draft? Or you a Stars fan that overvalues players because they were drafted here? Columbus might need a RD if Jones leaves and they could have the chance to extend Klingberg. Gurianov is a decent middle of the lineup forward can play power play. With the cap situation Dallas really needs to start looking for a long term solution that isn’t giving Klingberg a deal like Miro. It also helps I don’t personally care for Klingberg’s half ass defending and Gurianov doing his usual.
From my perspective really big on Clarke, lots of good defense in this draft but mostly lefty in the next ok Righty is Ceulemans who is probably a lower chance of success and more of a long term development. Clarke I think could make the NHL after he finishes his Junior career in a couple years then he’s on an ELC long past Benn, Faksa and Lindell’s contracts expiring. Where as Klingberg really messes up the cap flexibility if they keep him beyond this season.

I don’t think that’s the minimum qualifying offer for Kivi has to be a minimum of a certain percent higher than last season. I do like Kivi being on Gurianov’s line someone who can hustle back when he turns the puck over and will skate hard the whole shift (not just on scoring opportunities). I don’t mind Kero as the 13th forward/healthy scratch guy that you put in when a guy is down and it’s not the time to call up a rookie or short notice, I don’t think they should try to make him a full time guy, he’s just a younger Dowling.
Nice on actually being reasonable with free agent signing expectations for Forwards(like not going to pay Coleman 4+ mil for 3+ years to be the 8th best forward). I would probably go after Martinook though, good team guy as well as good checking role but is a lefty and could keep Comeau on the right side. Not sure on the prices it’s always hard to predict but everyone over rates their favorite players and really overrate draft picks. So not sure if the UFAs you have are accurate, thought Vatanen might be worth a bit more and we likely don’t see him coming back because of that.

Hintz-CBJ
That Tampa pick is basically a second rounder, Texier isn’t needed in Dallas. Hintz is the best forward and the best centre on the team and they aren’t more likely to be a rebuild team than Columbus.
There are other assets in Dallas that are realistic maybe they get traded. 1year UFA Rentals: Klingberg, Pavelski, Radulov. Good players and prospects that can be replaced: Gurianov (RW), Mascherin (LW,C), Dellandrea (C, RW), Damiani (C,RW) the later 3 would be good if it does look like Jarmo wants to rebuild.

Probably Rejected. Stars have Klingberg, Lindell and Heiskanen making big money on Defense don’t need Jones. Desperately need scoring why trade away the best forward on the team? And plus a second I’d say other way around since Jones is UFA after a year and Hintz is a future 1C, I’d say the only asset the stars could really gain is if they decided time to rebuild (long term if you need a reason to ship Hintz) then this years first round pick and either 22 or 23 first so they have a pick that belongs to a lottery team when the Wright and Bedard drafts are coming up.

Reply with how you like your teams pick/picks
I’d be over the moon if the Stars get Sillinger. I don’t think it will happen. If they go for need maybe a lw or RD. Ceulemans a would be a good pick if they could trade down and gain another assets or shed some cap in the process.
I think Sillinger goes earlier and Lysell drops be cause of the rumors of attitude issues in Sweden demanding trades as a teenager in the Pro league. Coronato drops as well, hopefully past the Stars because I can see a scenario where he pulls a Jimmy Vesey or Kevin Hayes where he’s going to Harvard next year so probably will play 4 years get his degree and be able to wait until he’s not under control of his drafting team and go wherever he thinks has the best spot for him. I am glad it looks like you put thought into this though usually feels like by the time people get to Dallas they just chuck a player from the later part of the rankings just to fill a spot instead if they beat player or fit.
