Only bring them up when they are “over ripe and ready to withstand the tough part of the development of the team! I rushing anyone”

That’s a great question you asked and I’d be curious to see his response as a Hawks fan because outside of Bedard it’s usual the safe thing to let young players either go back to juniors or play in the AHL. The Habs have been doing it right with our rebuild so far. Pushing a player into too many NHL games when they’re not ready leads you to a Lafrenière situation.

Sharks Land Celebrini Trade for Andersson and Sign Nylander Reinhart Samsonov
Rushing the rebuild is a bad idea, that defence isn't good either. SJ already has a young core intact (Eklund, Smith) and if they tanked for another 2-3 years, they have the chance to land 1 maybe 2 GENERATIONAL talents (Macklin, Misa, or McKenna) which is crazy to think about.
In 5-6 years, when Nylander, Reinhart, and Andersson start regressing and Hertl and Couture are washed up, your likely going to have do re-tool again while your stars (Celebrini, Smith, Eklund) hit their prime. Therefore, SJ should tank it to the ground for another 2-3 seasons and build a potential dynasty instead of rushing it

Lineup and Trade Deadline Targets
No I think from the Sharks. Good chance those guys are worth 2nds on their own at the TDL if they are having good years. 2.5 and 3m are low enough cap hits that many contenders will be able to fit them in without us having to use our retention slot. That means its still available to move a contract like Hoffman's or Labanc's and so creates a trade possibility that might not have been there otherwise.

or if we retain on either of those two it would be to get a first

As nice as it would be to have both Duclair and Tatar we're realistically in the mix for only one.
Might need to sweeten it a touch to make SJ use their last retention slot though.

SJS isn't doing that for 3 years for that price. It'll cost more. Sharks have one retention spot left.

I was thinking a 4th but in this draft a 3rd would be fine honestly (weaker drafts like this one a 3rd is essentially a late 4th, plus sharks almost never hit in 3rds anyways just look at our draft history)

SJ decline, it would cost a 2nd to land Barabanov, yet you haven't paid to dump Oshie
PHI trade is fair value wise
I think CGY will either trade Lindholm at the TDL for a return of future assets or keep him as their own rental if they are in the playoff picture
Tatar won't sign that high, he is looking at a 2 years deal

Peeke has good size and is still very young, I would take a flyer on him plus CBJ may be willing to opt for a pick rather than the retention!

Hard to say considering he only played under hynes at the NHL level. 2nd line is likely the ideal place for him.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CowanDeBrabarian</b></div><div>SJ is widely rumoured to want Myers as a short term RD to eat up some of Karlsson's minutes. With retention he will have some value at TDL for a contender.
Beau has negative value? Not sure at all where that idea comes from. With retention, at 3.15, he is definitely a value contract with upside as a middle 6 option. He is far from a cap dump, like Hoffman, Granlund, Lebanc, etc, etc.</div></div>
No they're not. There was one rumor that there was a Labanc for Myers deal on the table and it didn't happen. Now they have Rutta on that right side, so getting Myers would do them no good. The 2nd should literally be going the other way considering SJ is taking on 2 cap dumps and VAN is taking on one.
And people have such short term memories with Granlund. Dude had 60+ points a year ago and was on pace for 50+ with NSH before he was traded last season. He was just an awful fit with Pitt

Rutta
Sharks would likely bring in another team and pay them that 5th and add their 4th to retain. Or they'd take on a cap dump.
They'll need that last retention slot at the deadline. But if they're getting a 2nd for Rutta they'll definitely try to make it work.

Another Karlsson trade
This is getting out of hand...
I don't see a world where Grier retains on Karlsson for just a 1st and 2nd in return. If you want the player with retention you need to trade at least one of Pickering or Yager along with at least 1 1st and a 2nd. If that offer isn't provided, Sharks hold on to him until another time. You can forget about having Barabanov thrown in, he isn't a throw in piece

In all sincerity... the cost to dump Petry is more desirable than this return for EK...with $4.5m retained...for 4 years. It's just an awful return for the current Norris winner.

Trade Chabot while you can
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>goodaytoday</b></div><div>So what are your thoughts on what to do with Pinto and Sokolov? Just give them a qualifying offer and hope they don't sit out a whole year? What are your thoughts on what to do with Joseph? Keep him or trade him, and what would you give up to trade him?</div></div>
Sokolov is probably looking at an 800k ish deal, maybe a 2 year with the 2nd being a 1 way. Pinto is probably short term, 2/3 years at around 2-3m. I’d move Joseph and you can package a prospect and pick to a team. Something like Joseph + Sokolov/Thomson/Jarventie (depends on what the other team wants really) + a 3rd or something. Joseph isn’t a terrible player, he’s real good on the PK and he’s still young enough that I’m sure some teams would love to pick up the assets for taking him. Helps both the now and future and worst case, he sucks this year for them too but 2 years (past this year) at 3m isn’t the worst contract to have. Ottawa would just use the money saved from Joseph to give to Pinto and roll a 21 man roster. Top 9 consists of Tkachuk, Stutzle, Giroux, Norris, Tarasenko, Batherson, Pinto, Kubalik and Greig.

With the cap going up, only notable player needing to be signed is Sanderson. They are ok in future years, it’s really this year that the cap hurts mainly with all the dead cap they have. Plus, Chabot seems injury prone because he’s been one manning this D corp since 2019 lol he’ll be fine with reduced minutes

I'm not sold that playing on the worst team in the NHL is the best place to gain confidence and improve your skills,</div></div>
100% agree. I'd even keep Eklund down until injury or trade opens up a spot or he is absolutely torching the AHL. A great opportunity for the youngsters to bond playing in Cuda in what would hopefully be a winning team. With Thrun as long as they retain his RFA rights at least they could trade him for assets? But it seems like Thrun, Gawanke and Pulli all came to Sharks in hopes of a shot at NHL, which is odd to me because the Sharks already have 7 D men on NHL contracts?

The backup goalie?
