Habs desperate to move a D
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Billy316</b></div><div>No he's right its getting close but we're not there yet (tho we could just sell 2 vets/2 young guns at TDL and overstock the AHL but thats risky)
Harris requires waivers now for like 4 months
Struble requires them in 20 games
Guhle does in 40 some games, Xhekaj in 60 some games, Barron in 70 some games or 1 season
Hutson, Reinbacher and Engstrom will all be in Laval or MTL next year with Mailloux
These are just the guys we're considering for next year.
We got Captain Kony the 21 year old KHL Captain and playing 22 + minutes a night.
We got Kostenko who after a mediocre KHL debut last year at 20 he went to the KHL's version of the AHL and has dominated similar to Mailloux in the AHL this year.
We got to move players but if we're willing to give away or lose Savard/Kovy for next to nothing then our youth can all survive another year.
But it will make 2025-26 real dicey if any of them standout as it will basically demand that Matheson be moved so they can grow</div></div>
Just move Struble in AHL for next season until one of Barron Kovacevic Harris are traded (close to tdl or at tdl). There is really no rush here.

we are not desperate at all. We will even keep all of our D till the next TDL if we do not receive a premium offer for one of them.

New Third Pairing Next Year
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>batman</b></div><div>I was telling myself the same thing with Jake Evans. But I realized that Evans is probably going to get traded next deadline. He’s slotted in the 4C role, a slot where Owen Beck should replace him.
Realized this while looking at our 2024-25 team</div></div>
I think that having Evans as 3rd C and Beck as 4th C can actually be a great thing for us.

Is Evans likely to extend in Montreal? If so then I could see why this wouldn't make sense.</div></div>
Evans and Beck are part of the future for Habs.

Funny deal
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Snowhawk18</b></div><div>Hall had his surgery 4+ months ago and the fact that he is back in the ice already is an indication the rehabilitation of the injury is going well. Does that mean he is ready to return now? No, but he will be fine for training camp, to suggest that he will be out the lineup until December based on what is being seen now is just ridiculous. If he suffers another tear while rehabbing perhaps but he won’t need another 8-9 months for ACL “conditioning”.</div></div>
Well, all hopes for you guys.

skating doesn't mean he is ready to comeback ;) Conditioning for ACL can take longer than usual, and as a Habs fans we know how huge of a deal that can be ;)

Cap management in 25-26 require that we take out all our LTIR dead cap. We have to sign Slafkovsky and Ghule !!!

The Celebrini ripple effect
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Garak</b></div><div>I think it was last season before the deadline, they said they will be "closely scrutinizing trades involving LTIR players" to discourage teams taking advantage of loopholes and circumventing the cap. Which, I think has more to do with contenders acquiring those contracts to help them exceed the cap, as well as stashing players on LTIR until the playoffs, again allowing them to exceed the cap and load up their roster. But I know some experts and pundits believed that they were also frowning upon teams like AZ padding their cap structure with injured players in order to get to the cap floor. Their haven't really been any of those trades since then. So, whether or not they would overturn the trade I am not sure, but I believe that if CHI were able to do so, they more than likely would have by now.</div></div>
I guess that Molson will pay the July 1st bonus and then Habs are going to shop him.

As I've said, Jarvis has not played top line until like 3 weeks ago and he's STILL on pace for 30 goals, 70 points, two things Caufield has never done. Jarvis is clearly better offensively, he's the better goal scorer, he's DOMINANT defensively, and he's a year younger. All those arguments Habs fans made for Caufield over Necas, Jarvis dominates Caufield. It's so funny.</div></div>
Jarvis is playing on a top team and Caufield on a bottom one. Can this affect the numbers and would both offer the same pace if the situation was switched?
