how good
Goaltending won’t steal any wins imo. Half the d core is fantastic, rest are okay I guess. Offense could win the cup imo.

I think Arizona does that trade but no way the Islanders do that trade.
I remember you were trying to trade Byron for a 3rd round pick without retention. How does he get dumped for a 3rd but Komarov (with retention) costs a 2nd to move?
Komarov for Byron 1 for 1 seems pretty fair. Get some grit for some offensive production.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PLDGEY</b></div><div>Byron costs 6.8M over 2 years.
It costs a 1st to dump 6M (Marleau), and that was before the flat cap. More expensive now.
Another example, is Ladd 8M over 2 years, cost 2nd+2nd+3rd
So Byron is between a 1st and 2nd+2nd+3rd.
Thats real world examples given for my reasoning, you explain your side.</div></div>
You can get ~1.4M in retention for 1 year for a 4th. (Foligno). That's about $700k divided over 2 years for a 4th.
Byron could likely be moved for free at a $2.7M cap hit.
If not, add another 4th. Byron at $2M should be enticing to at least a few teams.

Well, if you're going to score by committee, it follows that you need a committee of scorers, right?

But I think you guys need to make a trade no? The team has 7 wingers making 3.4 mil plus, one in the mid 2s and a stud young guy on an elc. Drouin is not stud but neither he nor the team will be happy with him on the fourth line, no?</div></div>
Drouin will play with Suzuki and Caufield

If that was the case...cool. You also would have kept Mete or been part of the Subban trade.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>habsfan00</b></div><div>copp instead?</div></div>
It would be more likely, although he really fits here in WPG. If his arbitration is too high, then I could see it happening, but if not, I'd prefer him to stay here. Copp also had a career year, so I don't know if you give that up

Missing a player on the LW. Still have 4M$ in space.
On a personnal note, I think Poehling would get the 925K$ or 950K$ to play in the NHL. Perry may also get a "thank you" bonus many have talked about which would mean around a 1M$ salary. Still, good move for Shultz since they need cap space he should not cost much.
Savard for me would be a pass, just because he ended with a minus in the +- for the Jackets but most importantly TB.. That's bad.. Only the high points players got a - (Johnson and Killhorn and they are -1) and some random filler players. He got a -8 .. Not worth the time since we're passing on Gustafsson who had better numbers..

That Blues offer is wildly delusional. Frenchy is our top scorer and emotional leader, and you want to pay trash who can't skate (Poehling), a tiny meh prospect who can't skate and a 2nd to a team that is nowhere near rebuild status?
Yeah, that's gonna be a hard pass, bro.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jwilliams2k12</b></div><div>I just want to get rid of him honestly.</div></div>
Grimaldi is such a great guy to have on the team -- always hustles, no quit, still solid for a small guy -- but Hynes just doesn't like small players. In Lavy's system, Grimaldi would be another 30-40 point player, but with Hynes he's a healthy scratch.
The only reason I want to get rid of him is so that he can actually have a chance to play. I'll miss him if/when he's traded, but I don't think he has a future in NSH with Hynes as HC.

Lets Be Honest the Kraken Suck
It's like you've identified the correct thing - they took too many young d-men to make the team - and then failed to draw the conclusion here. I could be wrong, but to me that means we are about to see a ton of movement involving future capital going to Seattle in trades for said young d-men. Cap space is the ultimate asset in the flat cap world. The team has a really solid foundation and looks quite scary if they can add a top line LW and Dougie.
Their top end talent sucks rn on paper but they already have one of the better d-cores in the league

Perron most likely gets at least a first in a deal, but not sure Blues are willing to invest in a trade like this. This would surely solidify a rebuild status that most of these players feel shouldn't be happening.

Have to think Blues would have to get a 1st back for Perron. If Foligno can get a 1st or Palmieri, Perron surely can.

I’d love if it’s less than this, but he’s a great 2-way centre on a phenomenal contract who was on pace for 25 goals this year.
So what do you think, Guhle and one of this year’s 2nd round picks then?

Devils would accept that deal if there were no retention. But that is a whole lot of money to be retained.
