You need the room
That doesn't gain them any cap space. If they're right at the cap and trade for Price that puts them 10.5 over the cap. Then they move him to LTIR and they're right back where they started, right at the cap. So why would they give you a 1st for the privilege of paying Prices salary for the next 2 years?

Flyers Avs 3C Swap
It’s thought provoking so kudos to you. <a href="/users/TJTwolf" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@TJTwolf</a> is right right about the value though, in a vacuum I’d like a guy with more speed at 3C but it’s worth talking about.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NMAvsFan</b></div><div>I'd say the sweetener is the retention and I'd go for it if Colton is the odd man out.</div></div>
Maybe I'm being greedy but I would count the drop from Colton to Laughton as worth more regardless of the retention.

If Flyers can get out of Coots's contract, its worth it. That being said, Id start with Lycksell and if balked, Id up it to Brink.
Tippett, Foerster, Michkov are our RW future imo

Flyers offseason outs
Frost isn't going to be moved. He is the only young center on this team with potential to be something else than a bottom 6 guy, they are not moving him.
Chance of Farabee being moved is absolutely not 50/50. Despite what torts said he is still a good young player on a good long-term contract. Flyers LW is already weak and Farabee is the only top 6 Left handed winger on the team.
The rest I can agree with.

Flyers 24-25 with Lundell
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>johum7</b></div><div>retaining on laughton would make it much more desirable. i wouldn't move cates or brink unless its necessary. brink has middle 6 playmaker ability and cates is a top 15 defensive forward in hockey, just playing the wrong position - move him to 3LW and he'd be incredible on a line with couturier and foerster in the future</div></div>
Retaining Laughton is also option, though we are already retaining on Hayes as well for 2 more seasons. Ofc it's not hurting cap wise and the retention would be off the boards when Michkov arrives and this team should start competing more seriously.

getting to that 13 to 18 range next year
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>johum7</b></div><div>tbh there is probably more that makes konecny effective than what made gallagher effective (admittedly my memory of prime gallagher is quite spotty)
TK is a great playmaker (honestly his best ability imo) and can score from all over. the edge he plays with is a bit of a concern, but on a 6 year deal i wouldn't be too concerned</div></div>
If the edge is not a concern, then Philadelphia would be incredibly foolish to let him go. He's almost a perfect player today.

new bedard linemate
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caniac2000</b></div><div>There is a world where Carolina listen to offers from Chicago for Necas. This ain't it. It's light. I think it's a workable starting point, but Riechel is a reclamation project at this point. I could see a world where an offer starts with the Leafs and Lightning 1st rounders. but there isn't much else I can think of that Carolina would want.
One of Vlasic or Korchinski would be nice in theory, but Nikishin kind of means it's not a need. Bedard would be huge, and I will personally drive Necas to Chicago if that happens, but it won't. But... outside of that... maybe one of Moore or Nazar could be interesting? I just don't see it</div></div>
Obviously Reichel doesn't have as much value as a year ago but he's not really a reclamation project. He's still only 21. He's only had one bad season.

Thanks for your comments, please read the description. These trades have already been completed by the GM's of our fun GHL GM League!

I’d make Mercer-Swayman the centerpiece of a swap if they want a hammer.
If they want assets I’d go as high as 9th overall+Holtz. Which would be an absolutely historically massive package for a goalie

Let’s have an honest assessment, Newhook was traded for a 1st and 2nd, Frost I would argue has more value than Newhook given what he has produced the last season and a half and the Flyers are in a playoff spot I just don’t see them trading him right now.
