I agree for Mrazek, maybe a weetener is needed. But for NYI, a Nylander - Barzal - Lee would be great

Yeah I agree, I just thought that Petry playing in his hometown would've been cool. I also see Dallas, if they lose Klingberg

I wrte that Hoffman is worth a third. I believe that Allen doesn't have much value based on his age. Lehky for 2 seconds is faire (similar to the Shaw and Eller deals). Petry for a first would be great but if its Detroit it would be a decent second in the late 30's, maybe 40 ish. I would love Comtois
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Campabee</b></div><div>Montreal isn't doing any of these for the following reasons
Hoffman is not worth a 2nd even retained he tops out around a 3rd.
Petry and Lehkonen are worth a 1st + and Allen is worth a 2nd. I wish Comtois was available and for that price but I just don't see the Ducks trading him.</div></div>

Ducharme is not a clone of Julien, but it looks like he is struggling to find a good system for the team. However, he didn't have a lot of time to prepare himself and the way he wanted the team to play with a such condensed schedule. If the habs win a round, or if they, at least, show some grit and fight hard against the leafs, then I would give him a shot.

Yeah I saw him too he looked great but the gap between dominating the AHL and being a solid NHL player is pretty large, so we just need to be patient

Ideal Offseason
I don't think that the habs will part ways with Carey. Even tough his contract is horrible, the habs still need the presence of Carey Price in order to win games in the playoffs. Just look at how he played at the bubble, where he carried the habs for 10 straight games. Jake Allen is an excellent 2nd goaltender, but as we have seen in the past in St Louis, he struggles to find consistency when he gets a high volume of games.

I don't hate that, I just think that having DeAngelo and Gostisbehere, who are both similar types of players, could hurt the defense on the long run and create defensive liabilities. But overall I like the trade to Seattle and the fact that we have cap space flexibility to add another asset on the offensive side or bring back Tatar. Putting Poehling on the third might be a bit premature, but I believe that he needs to make next year's roster.

Costs much less than 50% retention, and a 5th Rounder isn't enough to sway the Rangers to take on extra money for no reason.</div></div>
I think they would prefer that than stretch his contract for 3 years

Pain
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Callfrom295</b></div><div>After 5 years of pure mediocrity, wouldn’t it be nice to have 4 lines that can contribute even remotely offensively?
I swear to God I’ve been hearing “no we can’t trade him he’s a solid defensive forward, good on the Pk, he’s fast.... etc. But the team still struggles to score. Ottawa scores at a higher rate. Can’t you see the distinct MILES in between the Habs and the rest of the cup contenders?
After 11 years of no consistent elite/threatening offensive forward, I’m sick of caring about guys who do the little things right and are useless in contributing to the big things.</div></div>
I agree with you, but at the same time we need guys like that, maybe 1 or 2 per team, not 5 like it was the case with the other teams that we had in the past.
I believe that if we have 3 good lines that could score on a regular basis and a fourth line that brings pressure energy and heart to this team, we would be in a good place. The lack of offensive consistency comes from the fact that 2 out of our 3 centers are under 22 years old and need developpement, and from the fact that some of our wingers are soo unconsistent(Drouin,Tatar,Armia)

I think there would be interest, but he offers would be underwhelming, somthing like a 3rd + salary retention from Montreal' side,

I would keep Lekhonen on the lineup, he is so good on the pk and brings a lot of energy on that 4th line that lacks a lot of speed with Staal and Perry. However, at this point, we have no choice but to bring Caufield on the roster and give him a try.

Who would be interested in Jonathan Drouin
I believe that Drouin has little to no value on the trade market, and that the habs should simply keep him and use him in a limited role, because I believe we would receive a mid round pick and we would need to take on a salary, which is, at this point, not a good deal for Montreal

I agree, but at this point in time, I do not think that any team would want Drouin and that salary unfortunately...;(

I agree but based on Montreal needs in defense, which is a quick puck moving D, Deangelo would be a perfect fit, but his previous antics would make him tough to insert in a team

I don't think that Tatar will have a lot of great offers in the free agency market and he loves Montreal, if he doesn't take that then the habs should move on from him
