Looking at it this way:
A truly bad goaltender (Petersen), an undersized injury-prone defenseman (Walker), and a mid-tier prospect (Grans), at least in the short term, is not all that good.
Looking longer, recency shows that the Flyers haven't been great with drafting. Those picks won't amount to a lot if trends continue.
Provorov slots into the role in Columbus's locker room that was vacated when Gavi was traded: a minute-munching 2LD that can be a mentor to the Russian kids (Chinakhov, Marchenko, Tarasov, eventually Voronkov, etc.)
It's not as bad for us as you think.

Imo, Dallas has to get a partner for Heiskanen and buyout Suter. Probably the 2 most important things

Benn is our captain and had 78 points this season, he isn’t getting bought out.
Recency bias is a drug, just because he sh*ted a series doesn’t mean he should be bought out.

Here's something to think.
If DAL were to buy Ryan Suter out of his contract, Dallas and Minnesota would collectively be paying $8,1 million dollars next year for him to NOT play next year.
Just goes to show how fantastic player he is.

Make that 8
Always pretty harsh on Miro when he has to do 2,5 defensemen's job alone.
Suter is a negative presence that only confuses everyone around him.
Wonder how much Vegas is paying him.

Still think Game 7 OT loss against Blues in 2019 hurt more, but still...
