That is fair and that may end up being what Ottawa ultimately decides, but then don't say Anderson wouldn't fetch a first to help justify your stance.

Anderson would easily fetch a first round pick+ just like chariot, top 10 pick mtl would need to add.

That’s solid value for 2nd overall. You can’t get 2nd overall for less and it had to be through a three way trade. Doesn’t have to be Slaf.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BigBadBurke</b></div><div>Exactly, why would a rebuilding team trade 3 1sts for one? Not good</div></div>
So they can flip the 6th for 2nd. Trade for mtl ends up being Petry, Anderson, 27th overall, and mallioux for 2nd overall. I would do that.

I don't hate this deal from LA's perspective. Downgrading a 1st to a 2nd while picking up Josh Anderson could be a solid deal. Anderson's declining production and $5.5M cap hit are concerning though.</div></div>
Thanks for the reminder, just signed him. Anderson replaces Dustin Brown on LA. He’s a good player and has been on pace for over 20 goals for many years now.

<a href="/users/tampabaylightning22" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@tampabaylightning22</a> Petry is a top 4 d. The pick is already known. Not too steep of a price. Petry has 3 top 4 years left in him, which is the length of his contract.

Saad is a bit of a cap dump at 6 mil but can still score 25, so Chicago get two picks and a 20 goal scorer. Tatar had 61 points in 68 games, Anderson had 3 goals, come on.

You under-value Domi. Mantha in a first line role was on pace for 30 goals and 75 points this year, Domi had 28 goals 72 points in a top 6 role in Montreal.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ledge_And_Dairy</b></div><div>Why is Calgary downgrading from Guadreau to Tatar?</div></div>
Calgary would get a huge return for Gaudreau that consists of current and future assets, Tatar is just to add depth to the top 6, not to replace Gaudeau.

Yea, I think he stays in Detroit. I only said he doesn't want to be there because that's most likely the only way he gets moved.

Byron is a 20+ goal scorer, not a fourth liner.

Yes, Tatar resigns in this case with the Ducks. The habs get their top LD to play with Weber and Anaheim gets a top line winger. I don't know if Anaheim still makes this trade but it is best case scenario and they are two players with similar value.

Considering you need to move a lot of cap space to sign Pietrangelo this is a good deal for both sides. Lindgren can battle to be your cheap new backup.
