Well over a PPG? Are you on drugs? He has been PPG twice in his 10 year career, and wasn’t last year.

Is that what he is? A 100 point player? Only one other year he had more than 60 points, plus he’s a pending FA. You can modify it with the top 5 pick but it’s not as absurd as you’re making it out to be

Boeser hasn’t played a full season, but if he did he averages 65 points. It’s a fair contract that takes him to 30. If he’s that good, it shouldnt be a problem by then. Until then he still has things to prove.
For Bratt, you’re buying out RFA years, more than fair contract for a guy that just broke out. Also takes him to 30.

You’re comparing points for a forward that mostly plays with Malkin and Kessel vs a dman that mostly plays with Oleksiak or Riikola. Pearson also starts in the offensive zone more than Maatta. I don’t think you’re getting a goal scorer from a rental, and Pearson certainly isn’t a “goal scorer”

He had 29 last year too. I think he’d be better than Severson. You’d rather have a forward that gets 10 more points and is 2 years older?

CHIARELLI TRIBUTE
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Joffe16</b></div><div>The Gretzky trade is definitely second place. The players and pieces the oilers acquired for more points than Gretzky ever did for the kings. It doesn’t matter when he got the mvp, he is the second best left winger in the league easily and what is the opera biggest need right now? Wingers!!! Taylor Hall is so fast and skilled the fact that we got a slow, defensive dman for him who, if you watched the past three games, is absolutely TERRIBLE at defense. For example in the Calgary game, a 5-2 loss Larsson was on for four goals against, abd two he was directly responsible for. He is absolute crap.</div></div>
You’re comparing the point production of 3 guys vs 1 lol as far as Larsson goes, it seems like defense is always a problem there, so maybe it’s the system? Hard to find consistency when you have 3 coaches in 4 years

Regardless, the deal has ended up horribly, he never should’ve given that old of a player six years with that kind of cap hit</div></div>
You’re saying trading a guy that didn’t win MVP until after he was traded, and went from a PPG to under for two years before the trade, is worse than a guys that was hitting 160 points before and after the trade? Larsson with Greene was the best shut down d pair before the trade.

Schneider hasn’t put up better numbers than Raanta in 4 years. A bad team has no reason to take a risk on a poor, injured, $6m goalie if they don’t need to, when there’s barely any room to improve at starting goalie.

I wasn’t really matching the picks to players, but the overall value of adding two pieces and saving cap for a F. I had a feeling it was too much going back to NJ, but I gotta be biased ?

So you think OEL will make $9-10M but are ok with Carlson making $6.5? I might agree that $6.5 isn’t enough. Seeing as Hedman just signed for just under $8M, I don’t see how those two can make more than that. The only way I can see them making more than that is if they take advantage of this and next year’s weak FA classes for D men and use Doughty and Karlsson as leverage

Because if you don’t trade for him now, another team might swoop in and get him and sign. 2019’s D FAs are pretty much just OEL, Karlsson and Doughty. I would love Karlsson or Doughty but OEL is a lot cheaper. Plus I’d rather have him next year than wait a year when we could really use him now, even with signing Carlson, since I’m trading Severson. Not that Severson is any good

No way on Trouba, that one is bad. They would need a studly LHD going back, we have none of those! AND your given us Dano, dude way too much homerism
Josefson better not be on this team next year!
Alzner's gettin paid (more than he should BTW)</div></div>
yea i had a lot different before but i had some stuff screwed up and it never came back together the right way. i spent too much time to delete it all. had to make the cap work out and stuff. i think i originally had Zajac going to MTL or something. dont really remember. oh well
