1st + good prospect is fair value.
turcotte is a really really good prospect, and LA's 1st is top 10.
to, for example, a team like idk philadelphia, frost + 1st feels fair for miller. yk what i mean?

okay yeah his point totals are a lot lower than i had thought lol. thats fair, i still think lundkvist + 2nd or late 1st gets it done for horvat. he's good

toronto counters with holl and a 5th for motte. yes?
i do like motte as a depth option for us though.
you've overvalued horvat and miller. horvat for 2 A-level prospects and a 2nd is not a deal that entices the rangers. you probably get one of those 2 and a 3rd/2nd.
miller for the former 5th overall pick also isn't passing. and la's 1st will be top 10 this year, probably top 5. they counter with either turcotte for miller straight (why does LA even want miller?) or a 2nd and maybe like trevor moore

probably. 2 years should be good for college, then maybe a half year in the AHL/NHL, then becomes full time

would assume it starts with a top 6 forward. from ottawa, batherson, i'd say. depending on the caliber of the player, maybe an added 2nd?
batherson and ottawa's 1st for girard and colorado's 1st would make sense

Major upgrade in 2 moves
if the article is right then i see no reason why the devils shouldn't be all in for girard.
two things:
1) the deal doesn't work.
- colorado doesn't want picks or prospects; they're in win now mode. a trade for girard is likely looking at bratt and wood and sweeteners, not picks.
- the devils should seriously keep their pick here for 2022. it's a deep draft, and there's no way we're competing in the metro: we're probably looking at another top 10 pick (likely 9 or 10), and next season will be the year as washington, philly, and pittsburgh regress.
2) ur article is wrong.
- girard is an elite puck moving defenseman signed at a steal of a contract considering the defenseman market right now. there's no way colorado moves him just because byram is looking good. they can happily live with their abundance of riches (in this case, riches is elite puck moving dmen) in makar, toews, byram, AND girard: easily the most loaded top 4 in the league. they're trying to win now: they're not in cap hell so they're not going to be moving their 3rd/4th best dman who would be a top 2 man on any other team.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>A_K</b></div><div>I definitely thinking trading Thomas would be a huge mistake. Maybe in a package deal for a guy like Tkachuk or Eichel, but this looks like an immediate downgrade that would only look worse over time.
FWIW, here are the top 5 even strength scoring rates of anyone with over 500 TOI drafted since 2017:
Jason Robertson: 2.84 EVP/60 in 54 GP
Elias Pettersson: 2.49 EVP/60 in 165 GP
Joel Farabee: 2.19 EVP/60 in 107 GP
Max Comtois: 2.17 EVP/60 in 94 GP
Robert Thomas: 2.08 EVP/60 in 169 GP
He had a tough year with injuries but seems to me a lot of people are sleeping on how good of a player Robert Thomas already is, and what he can be.</div></div>
yeah he's a talent. i wouldn't trade him unless a package comes along with a clear upgrade that you just can't refuse.

Stutzle or Byfield?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tryger</b></div><div>Exactly this, Byfield can be amazing but the Kings aren't going to rush him. He will need to prove everything, first that he can take over Vilardi as the 3C, and eventually show he is both defensively and offensively better than Kopitar and Danault before he ready for that 1C. By that time though Stutzle will already be established, so it depends on how quick you want results. If the question is who will have the most points in three seasons, it's Stutzle, if it's who is the better player in three seasons, I think it will be Byfield.</div></div>
perfectly said. stutzle's prime will also not even be in the same continent, let alone ballpark, as byfield's. i genuinely believe byfield is going to be better than lafrienere, but laf is more ready for where the rangers are at right now.

Literally Changing The Game of Hockey
i love it. thanks for sharing the articles. super neat idea, would certainly love to see a team take this leap. dubas & co's forward thinking could lead the leafs to being that team, and i would be all for it.
naturally, i have some minor contingencies with the lines & we'd need to trade/sign based on the structure - you can't have a valuable player in ritchie buried while dahlstrom is playing nhl games...
but i love the idea. super neat.
also defensive dmen tend to get paid less so you could totally fill up the leafs roster with like a bunch of them and then have matthews, marner, JT, and styles run the show up top.

Thread:
Stutzle or Byfield?
byfield for sure. byfield has top 5 center upside. stutzle is good but he will never be anything close to byfield.
that said, for a team on the verge of competing, stutzle is the choice - he's nhl ready, is going to be pretty impactful almost right away as we've seen, and will boost a team from a playoff team to a cup team.
for a rebuilding team, byfield. patience is key. byfield is a project, but if developed correctly - and he's a serious talent so it won't be hard to develop him right - he can become a top 5 or at least top 10 center.
