I read a piece from the Denver Post that says Girard is expendable.

My question to you is this:

What is your asking price for Sam Girard?

It can be from any team.

It doesn't have to be from Ottawa.

To get the ball rolling, I went with what Colorado paid for Devon Toews, which is two seconds.

Is this enough for Girard?

If not, what else do you want from the other team?

Starts with a 1st and a really good prospect if I had to guess. His underlying numbers are really really good, puts up points, and is at a management cap hit

Avs don't want picks and prospects. It would have to be a good young roster player on a cheap deal with term, just like Girard

Never use the Denver post for avs coverage, they are embarrassing

Asking price is Batherson or Norris types. Not draft picks

I have no idea why Girard would be expendable, and the Toews comparison isn't really apt as the Isles were in a position where they had to shed cap. Colorado is not.

I assume Girards trade value has plummeted, he looks awful, wish they would've traded him two years ago. A one for one trade for a second line forward would make sense, Avs don't need picks unless they're flipping them for more depth scoring.

would assume it starts with a top 6 forward. from ottawa, batherson, i'd say. depending on the caliber of the player, maybe an added 2nd?

batherson and ottawa's 1st for girard and colorado's 1st would make sense

Get real the post sucks the minute they break an Avs story will be the 1st time this century. Hate to say it CHI paid 2 1st a top prospect and a 2nd for Jones THEN gave him a $9.5M extension. Girard is better and makes almost 1/2 as much. Did CHI over pay yep. If COL were to look to move him is that the start of the asking price yep. 23yr old dman that play both sides 20+minutes get you 30+ pts and can qb the power play are a premium entity. The price doesn’t all the sudden be a discount bin because the guy is small.
