<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JLance</b></div><div>Thanks for the response and insight. I see Joker not as a garbage dump, but as an extra player the Sabres shouldn't be paying his worth. He's now a luxury item that can be played on lines 2 and 3 (1 in a tight pinch) but the value in him now is the trade return. There's plenty of teams looking for team controllable RHD's so there's probably many options here.</div></div>
Serviceable wasnt meant to be a slight!! He'd easily be the second best RD on the team and carries value 100%, most definitely not a cap dump and Ottawa should be interested

Carter Yakemchuk welcome to Ottawa
I'm not gonna be dead set against a kid, but I'm really not a big yakemchuk guy. Sens drafting an RHD who isn't BPA would be a massive miss in my opinion, although obviously we never know what guys will develop into. but just conceptually it'd be a mistake. gimme Zeev Buium over Carter Yakemchuk every day of the week

Pick any 3 prospects 1st round picks for OTT
(Sens aren't trading Tkachuk)
Quinn, Peterka, and this year's 1st. that'd be the cost and if Buffalo won't pay it then they don't want him enough to get him. is it an overpay? yeah probably, but it takes an overpay to get a divisional rival's captain, star, and cornerstone piece of a 7/8-year long rebuild on a reasonable, long-term contract, when both player and team have expressed no interest in parting ways and instead, the exact opposite.

Capitals are either old AF or Young AF
Jensen is still solid but they are just not a good team. TVR also would be a solid middle pairing guy on a good team. When Jensen was with Orlov they were an elite pairing. Put him with a Chabot or Sanderson and you have a good pairing. People tend to overlook that they are currently overachieving

Byfield offer sheet
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>Let's imagine a team with cap (not the Sens) have the cap for such a signed offer sheet. If the Kings in this case, think the cap is too high, I just think it's better to get the picks and spend that 8m elsewhere on UFAs or your own team.
One reason I think offer sheets don't work, is teams pay a player UFA money and then have to give up picks too. Just sign a UFA and keep the picks.</div></div>
There is nothing close to Byfield that will be available as a UFA.

This is capfriendly where 95% of players not on your team are a cap dump and every prospect has guaranteed McDavid lite potential if they show anything at any point and are untouchable!

He's a 6'7 athletic goalie from Scandinavia (they produce good goalies)
He just turned 23 y/o recently which is still pretty young for a goalie. He doesn't have great numbers in the NHL but who does? Outside of Anton Forsberg in 2021-22, no goalie has been good in the whole DJ Dorion era and it took a vezina level season from AF
But his numbers in the AHL have been progressing to the point that he is starting to dominate at the AHL level
He was a 2nd round pick in 2020 and they have invested in him to be the goalie of the future, there is still a good chance he becomes that guy so yeah, they are not doing that at all.
