Edmonton is just going to buy out Campbell this summer. There is logic to them acquiring a goalie to play back up like Kahkonen but paying a 1st and a solid prospect to do that is crazy</div></div>
If they buyout campbell (1.1 million nwxt year then 2.5 for next 2 years then 1.5 for a few years after) they still have neals 1.9 million for next year plus browns 3.25 mill bonus money putting them at a 6.25 in dead space then the years after are between 1.5-2.5 million. i know its not a lot but its helpful for a team thats trying to go all in and id rather have the cap space then the draft picks at this point. plus its more for clearing cap space this year to make some big pushes at the deadline.

could easily flip foeg at half retained to a contender who needs a big body for a 3rd round pick</div></div>

Pesce trade

If you want to flash back a bit further to when both teams were good we can. I'll thank Edmonton all day long for trading us Pronger as we would have never won the cup in 2007 without him. He didn't have the same magic for the Oilers in '06. Seriously, how do you trade Chris Pronger to your DIVISION RIVAL? Edmonton didn't make the playoffs for ten years after that deal.</div></div>
oldhead that was 16 years ago lmao if u so pressed i can change the team and trade with someone other than ur poverty franchise

cant be a divison rival when one team is tanking...

you guys could probably get a first as well honestly along with broberg. broberg looked really promising last season and if given the chance i think he could really thrive especially on analytics based team. its one of those players whose gonna resign for a cheap bridge deal and give u some relief cap wise in the next 2 years when you have star players to resign

they also have to sign some big names next year like aho teravinen necas skjei and slavin in 2 years. i mean yeah u can keep him for one more year but why not try and get something for him now when its almost impossible you keep him after resigning those guys.

Pesce trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>InRodWeTrust</b></div><div>"because of their cap space issues" is where that comment went erroneous. I don't know who these 'insiders' are but that is not an accurate characterization of the situation. I won't go into it but it's what prompts trades like this and why they won't happen.</div></div>
i mean you guys need to resign half your team. a starting goalie is anywhere between 4-6 million. 2 dman at 2 millionish each. a top 6 forward 6-8 million. then probably 3-4 bottom 6 guys at around 1.5 million each. your left with 2-6 million left yes u can keep pesce but then what about next year when tervainen aho necas martinook skjei all need contarcts and even worse 2 years later when slavin needs one. i just think ur not holding pesce on long term with all the contracts coming up so u might as well get something for him now. i mean you guys havent had much playoff success either so maybe switch something up.

What does Broberg do for them?</div></div>
they consider it if they cant get a deal done with pesce. lots of insiders say if a deal cant get done expect pesce to be gone because of their cap space issues. at least they get a young high potential replacement for pesce whos on a entry level deal and a pick

i agree but ideally u trade campbell but we know thats not happening. youd have to hope broberg and bouch can take the next steps and if they do then ceci would be making 3.25 mill on the third pair i like ceci a lot just seems the odd man out if the young guys step up. it sucks cuz the cap was supposed to go up 5 million this year but isnt which wouldve easily helped keep ceci or get depth. maybe u can trade more and get a 50% retain on konecny and use that cap to sign 2 forwards and dman for depth</div></div>
