DRAFT BENSON BONK AND LIND PLUS EDMUNDSON TRADE
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AlakHul</b></div><div>so just bye to MSL in 24-25? lmao even though he actually let Caufield play and live up to his potential? yeah no MSL is the coach in 24-25</div></div>
Haha fair I do think MSL is excellent but he's a stop-gap coach with limited experience at the job. He's a great coach to foster talented players to play creatively. This is the best time to have MSL so as to make the young players good. But for a playoff run in 2024/25, he's not the coach you want. Patrick Roy can make the Habs play a better team game.

Fair enough. Feel free to replace Brassard, Nieto, Leivo and Lewis with whatever 4 you want but you have $3,400,000 to work with. Good luck.

I would guess 6-7 teams are in the market for Barbashev because of his playoff performance which should drive his price up. DET can afford to overpay.

DRAFT HONZEK ANDERSON TO WSH 64M DEAL FOR CAUFIELD NEDELJKOVIC ON A 1YR PROVE IT
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>The problem with your draft-pick trade is that it isn't trading a 2023 pick (#7) for a 2024 pick -- for the trade to be any good for Montreal, the pick would have to move into 2025 because the 2024 Florida pick is conditional upon not being in the top 10. So Montreal is either getting a later pick than #10 in 2024 or some pick in 2025, which could be even worse. For this idea to make any sense at all from the Habs' PoV, there would have to be additional conditional picks in Montreal's favor.</div></div>
Yeah that's probably true. Perhaps replace the 2024 FLA pick from PHI for the Flyers' unconditional 1st Rd pick (2024) would make more sense. I feel these picks are magic beans haha. My feeling is MTL should punt the pick to next years draft.

Fair points. I actually thank Andersons contract is a good contract. He could explode in WSH with 30 goals in 2023 and beyond. All positives for WSH. The rebuild for MTL should extend past next year

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Koskinen_The_Great</b></div><div>They wouldn't!
Despite the ridiculous Anderson hate here. His value is far beyond Mantha and his issues. They'd just keep Anderson, whos actually effective. The whole point of trading Anderson is getting a young asset in their window not a reclamation projection at the same age.
Already saw this draft pick trade before. Just more galaxy brain trading for trading without even knowing the draft positioning.</div></div>
Well to be fair I value the cap space more than both players. Anderson's contract would disappear and Mantha has one year remaining and you'd trade him for whatever at the 2023 TDL. I don't care about both players. Plus Mantha is from MTL and on the final year of his deal, meaning he will play his best hockey on the final year of his deal and would want to get paid on his next contract after this upcoming season.

haha oh yes Allen and Monty are terrific for a rebuild but to be fair Primeau is still a work in progress and bringing in another goalie could be a wise decision in the long term (2 year deal isnt all that risky). Plus Georgiev isnt that kind of goalie that will steal games and generate wins that would hamper getting Bedard.

Winnipeg passes, No way does that even come close to landing Pierre-Luc Dubois.
Dallas probably accepts that for Jeff Petry.
Rangers definitely accept.
And Detroit 100% passes, We have no use for Mike Hoffman.</div></div>
To be fair, the UFA market for Dmen is pretty light this offseason with not much competition that would drive up the value of Dmen. How much do you think Chiarot will fetch in free agency? Maybe 6.5 mill year. How bout Klingberg? probably hell get the most north of 8 mill? At 35 years old, Letang is worth more than Chairot but he's not worth more than Klingberg so somewhere between their contracts is where he'll end up. As for Hoffman, he's good on the PP and last time I checked the Red Wings were brutal on the Powerplay. Plus he played more minutes than the Red WIngs 3rd line last year. He's affordable and the Red Wings have cap space (they could use a veteran or two for the dressing room).
