Sooo kind of Schultz-like if you bump up his defensive awareness stats lol

Interesting. I admittedly don't know that much about TOR roster. I just assumed a contender could use a solid R hand puck mover and a solid #2 goalie.

With Cece being a UFA it might make sense for the pens to do that. I don't know though

This is going to be the problem. We don't have players making in the 1.75 range who we would move lightly. The only one that really makes this fit is Zach Hyman, arguably a more valuable asset than Kapanen.</div></div>
Yeah I see what you mean. Just in terms of value in general, would you say this is fair?

I thought if you were retaining $$ on a player, that means you get them for a percentage of your games. No? :)

Feel this is a bit of a pipedream but this would be an incredible team imo. Everyone gets what they want. Top talent around 87, new linemates with speed and skill for 71, a dangerous 3rd line, and keeps the grit that GMJR so evidently feels we need (by keeping Guddy)

Yeah good points you guys make. I guess there isn't much of a way to make a trade then. Oh well, holding onto Rust isn't a bad alternative if keeping speed is the goal.

As much as I'd love a guy like Panarin, he is asking for (and will get) 9-10 mil for 7 years. No way pens could afford it.

Same here. I have been impressed every time I watch him. Again, I think he could explode for the penguins with the talent they could center him with. I wouldn't mind paying 5+ for him (or Mojo as well). Man, it seems like we should go get a high point getter who is under contract around 5-7 million ;)

Kessel trade to Dallas with potential replacements
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChampEddy</b></div><div>Yeah Kessel is as good as gone but unfortunately he’s gonna make it difficult with his NTC. They do have different options though I think they can get something better than Faksa back. Don’t think they’re looking for picks unless it’s something like a top 5 pick where the guy would come in year 1 or 2 and make a big contribution. That’s one route the Pens might have to go though is trade Kessel for futures and try and land Dzingel or maybe Eberle.
JJ is gone too, I hope. But I think people exaggerate how hard it is gonna be to get rid of him.</div></div>
You are probably right in that they aren't necessarily looking for picks, though GMJR has said he loves this draft class so I think its possible. Eberle would be nice too. They will certainly need to add a guy like him, Dzingel, or Mojo to keep up in the East.
