TDL 2022
I get why BOS would pay an arm and a leg to bring in a 2C considering Bergeron's age and a closing window.
I just don't think there is enough help on the rest of the team to say, if we get one that's it we are a legit cup team.
Because of that it just seems like it's adding good money to bad.
BOS should do what PIT is doing, and keep it's picks

you can say what you want about Kap but at least he'll throw a body around and go fight for the puck.
Olofsson got 4 hits on the year. PIT does not want that.

it doesn't really matter. The fact that they have nothing better on there for paid content.....
I mean honestly, it's not even a reasonable question for anyone who knows anything about that situation.

I don't really view ERod as a 2nd line player. I'm sorry. The talent is not there.
I know a handful of people have their attachment to him. I'm not one of them.
He's just the new shinny object for some people, but truth is, he's not a good player and I don't think that's an answer for 2RW.
I'd rather just keep Kap at that point.

I know you're not asking a lot on the Pens trade. But PIT has no need for yet another LD. They got 5 of them on the team.

Kapanen for Kessel sequel

"Penguins get Phil Kessel (ARI retains 50 percent). Coyotes get Alex Nylander and a 2023 second-round pick. — Shawn O.
Kessel has been rumored in trades pretty much since the season began. He’s putting up reasonable numbers for Arizona but the question is how much of a market will there be for the 34-year-old?
Exec: Penguins say no, almost zero percent chance you get a second-round pick for Phil Kessel. The Coyotes have offered him around for a third-round pick while retaining 50 percent and haven’t gotten a buyer yet."</div></div>
Let me get this right. Someone pays for this total bs?
what kind of idiot would do that?
Even if we totally put aside the fact that Kessel and Sullivan don't get along, at all. And that Malkin was pissed at both of them for constantly being put in the middle of their crap.
We still have the overwhelming evidence that his play got lazy and things weren't working out. It was a good run while it lasted. We all love Phil, but he's not coming back.

They aren't going to keep ERod at center he can't win faceoffs.
He's giving up 10% on the dot to carter.
Which means Tippett is gonna have to be able to play 2RW.... not sure about that.

I'm not saying you will.
But come on, NJ is a 200Mil operating revenue club. They are not short on cash. It's not AZ or CBJ we are talking about here. NJ makes money.
I don't think the cash is what stops them in any move as if 6 mil cash makes or break them.

yeah that analogy doesn't even hold. TOR moved him for a 1st to open up the whole salary cap space. PIT is taking cap back only opening up 2 mil here.
Even if you add in the 1/2 year, the cap doesn't add up. Especially as Zucker continues to sit on LTIR. He could be there till the end of the season. It would actually cost PIT cap space this year.

For the LOLZ
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CanucksPain</b></div><div>I usually see Pens fans do Dickinson and a 2nd. I left Dickinson but instead of a 2nd I put in a 3rd and DiPietro which I thought might even be better than a 2nd</div></div>
Dickinson does nothing for the penguins. He's a bottom 6 player.
Their problems are fixing the 2nd line winger.
He can't play that role, hence there is no way they do this.
They sure won't trade a guy who has the potential to fill that role for someone who doesn't.
As the prospect is a nothing and the draft pick isn't helping them currently.
If they were to move Kap for picks, not saying they couldn't do that, but if they were too, it would be to open up his full cap space for a replacement.
