I think we come out on the worse end of the Garland trade, we give up the best player and take on the worst contact.</div></div>
ya, i get that but the point was to get JBD who could excel beside Hughes

This is also a VERY different roster to years past. The roster underwent a complete overhaul. Goaltending is far stronger, they're getting offensive production from the blueline with DeAngelo they never got with Hamilton, and this forward core is deeper than it's ever been before...
So what has Motte done? Won a cup? Gotten past the 2nd round? Hit 10 goals in a season? No, and no. Is he above average defensively? No. Is he better than Carolina's 4th line right now? Nope. What does he add?</div></div>

I know it's not a lot for Miller but I tried bring the offer sheet a little to incite discussion from wild fans - otherwise it just becomes a posting contest of "you're not getting that much for Miller" and "ok then no Miller"</div></div>

Miller and Dumba are on this team, and it's a 23 man roster.
You can either have one of Fiala/Dumba, or 2 of Fiala/Miller/Dumba.
Miller at 50% makes less than 3 mil, he doesn't screw up cap</div></div>
You're arguing with a troll who has made numerous accounts just to say the Wild say no to any deals offered because apparently he's the burner account for Guerin he's so plugged into what he's going to do.
Deal is fine, not sure I'd make it but for 2 playoff runs with a top 6 forward like Miller and a depth option in Schenn that has some playoff experience with Tampa makes sense even if the price is steep.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ragger_lord</b></div><div>Yeah, I undervalued Miller a little to try not to be a homer Canucks fan.
It's definitely a risk for you guys but it could pay dividends.
Also, not to sound like a broken record but if you check out part 2, I think Miller could be a good way to stay competitive next year even with the buyouts.

No I know, I saw your part 2. Trust me, I’ve sliced it every which way myself, and it’s less about getting it to work and more about whether or not it’s a prudent move for the franchise. There are good arguments to both sides. And this is a good proposal. I just don’t know what Guerin has planned. It’ll be interesting to see what goes down. My guess is he stays quiet and rolls with the team we have.

As much as I'd love to see it, I think since Koskonin's contract expires at the end of this season it's an overpayment for Halak. Take the 2nd out and I'd still do it.

little splish splash for the squadron
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ragger_lord</b></div><div>Oh I agree, that would be an overpay. Hence the issue I am having coming up with a proposal I think it's fair. It's there maybe another prospect you would be able to throw in to offset the difference between a 1st and the 2nd.
The other thing I could think of is it would be appealing if Ott took some of Vans dead cap space (Poolman, Dickinson, Myers) to offset the value difference.</div></div>
what about swapping a retained zaitsev for myers

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ragger_lord</b></div><div>Ideally I would want the second to be this year's first but with Ott that's not happening. It would be ideal if they could acquire someone else's to give to us.
The issue I have with a 2023 protected first is it's still pretty likely that gets bumped to 2024 which is a long time to wait to see a return.
Unless the protection on the 2023 was very loose (ie only top 3 protected)</div></div>
i mean i love garland but im probably not giving up a top 10 pick for him regardless of year and a promising RD prospect, maybe boeser and add to that, but would be pretty pressed for garland
just not sure who they have to move for a first, maybe they flip paul and a second for a teams 1st instead and send them that but theres not much worth 1st round value the sens should be trading

It is not. Trouba doesn't want to play in Canada and is playing better than Petry right now. They're certainly not including Lafrenière in that.

Eichel value was suppressed. I think Jakob Chychrun and JT Miller will have a somewhat similar return.
