Drop the 2nd and Carolina still pass. Motte isn't worth it, if you think he is, cool, send him somewhere else

Caniac? I can't see his post cause I have him ignored (saw you quote it) but he's the biggest Cane homer out there.

It's interesting, in my head I would think Myers has huge negative value but according to reports he may actually be pretty movable.

I think we come out on the worse end of the Garland trade, we give up the best player and take on the worst contact.

Send him elsewhere if you think he's worth it. He's a scratch in Carolina... rolling eyes

Nope, I'm a realist. Not that you'll see this cause you chose to ignore me because we disagreed.

a 4th liner on a fringe playoff team will not get into the lineup of a team on pace for 60 wins

How? Who would he push out of the lineup? The guy on pace for 20 goals or the Alternate captain? :eyeroll

Curious, what has Carolinas roster won the last few years? Anything? Did I miss their Stanley cup parade? Win a game in the conference final? More then 2 games in the 2nd round?

Swept the Islanders in the 2nd round...

This is also a VERY different roster to years past. The roster underwent a complete overhaul. Goaltending is far stronger, they're getting offensive production from the blueline with DeAngelo they never got with Hamilton, and this forward core is deeper than it's ever been before...

So what has Motte done? Won a cup? Gotten past the 2nd round? Hit 10 goals in a season? No, and no. Is he above average defensively? No. Is he better than Carolina's 4th line right now? Nope. What does he add?

What, I refute your insistence that because the Canes haven't won the cup in the last 2 years, they need to overpay for a 4th liner and I'm the homer?

Buddy, c'mon.

Zaitsev going to Van has me leaning towards a 'yes' from Ottawa. But replace Ott 2nd with Tbay's 2nd

Pearson already failed here once before. The Pens are not revisiting. Pass.

Most people put "any team" in the notes otherwise it looks like you're sending the player to us and asking what the return would be.

Canes have no need for Motte. If you need another opinion from a Canes fan point of view, here it is. Motte might draw a 3rd with retention, but that is way too much for him. If he isn’t scratched, which is where he would be most of the time, he would be on the 4th line. The only one he might be able to nudge out of a roster spot would be Martinook, and the only way he is out of the lineup would be if he is injured. We can spend the assets that we would be wasting on Motte to upgrade our top 6 or our dcore. Canes already have enough depth as is, no need to spend and waste assets for someone who would be a healthy scratch. The only realistic players Carolina would go for on Vancouver’s roster are Garland, Miller, and Halak, and that’s it.
