Trades ANA-Car-Buf
Skinner just went down and the GM needs to make the playoffs. You might get the pick protected, but it wont have a resign provision. I still think they would do it without any additional provisions. I think because of the market Krieder is going to get more then he should. He should get a 1st from calgary of someone who expects to be picking 26th and up. And Gms seem to overly value past playoff performance.

Can we stop trading Strome amp TDA please
I dont know where you get your reports about locker room love, but im sure both players are fine (TDA has had issues previously), but guys get traded all the time. Strome is a guy who is going to get overpaid, he's a good passer who can be a 20 goal scorer but he's borderline top six vs middle six in my opinion. He's definitely benefiting from playing with Bread. Who wouldnt. As for trading him. Id rather be on the side of the team who trades him when his value is highest vs overpaying for him and carrying him as an overpaid 3rd line winger in 2 years when they'll really want the cap space. Now the reason for trading tda is he's a very good offensive defenseman and maybe he's ok at the defensive part. Its hard to know their system is so passive. But you have 2 other rhd def with offensive ability and more in the prospect pool its probably smart to trade the one who you can trade who is going to be expensive then signing him to a long deal. Id rather have fox then tda and that seems to be the choice considering trouba isnt going anyway and the cap is crunched in 2020. Its all about net present value vs future value + positional strength. You deal from strength to fill weaknesses. if you can.

Toronto and beyond
The toronto cap looks unsustainable to me, but im no capologist. Not sure who the rangers should target if not a second line winger. To me this seemed like a good trade for the Leafs, it hurts but youd like what you got back to make it not feel bad. As for Buch, he's just happy quinn plays him above the 3rd line at this point.

2020-21
I would agree that the value for Pulj is a bit high, but considering how low regard Quinn seems to have for Lias im not sure. Pulj value should be lower then what a former top 5 pick who is kind of a bust costs, because he's not going to edm and the deadline is coming on fast for him to play this year. Strome's value is right, but Im not sure why Chicago would be trading for him. I cant see them giving up any draft assets. Colorado, St.louis, the islanders, sure he'd get a second at this rate.

The rangers make that st. louis trade. If strome keeps playing well his value will end up being a 2nd round pick though i dont think the avs are looking for him. I wouldnt make that trade if im toronto.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kakko_to_New_York</b></div><div>make it a 1st and they'd consider</div></div>
I dont think the rangers would do it. Kapanen is a good player that they'd like, but DeAngelo is going to get paid like 40-50 point dman (not sure he is that but thats the rate he'll get in the off season if he keeps his play up). So we are talking 5-6 mm per year for 5 years this off season. If the rangers have shown anything its that they can develop quality Goalies lately, so I think a 23 year old goalie is getting more in return then people think. It's hard to find young cheap goalies. And the rangers dont have to trade him.

Ideal yet realistic lines
Id kind of like to see them swap, night by night until one of them takes the 3rd line. I just dont understand or for that matter see how howden has played better then Lias. Im not expert but i just dont see what howden has done on the ice to keep Quinn from swapping them at least for a game or 2.

I'd do the st. louis trade. Not sure they would give up both Toropchenko and a 1st. Id pass on the Goergiev trade. If he keeps playing like he has at 23, he's worth more with his rfa rights.

You'd think Quinn would at least think about giving Lias a couple offensive players on his wings once or twice. The brendan smith wing experiment needs to die. I really dont get what they see in Howden over Lias, but at this point im probably bias with frustration.

probably too simple
I dont know. Krieder is what Lablanc might be in terms of a scorer in a year or two. Lablanc will cost 3+ mm on a bridge in 2020 while krieder will cost 6-7 for 5 years. If they think krieder would resign i think they would as he is a 2019-20 upgrade over lablanc, but if they dont they would be trading away some control. As to who will be the better player in this upcoming season, its krieder. If i were them id go for the cup. they are close enough to think its there for the taking.

For goals? And to move up to the second line when Krieder is moved on. Ideally you'd like some scoring out of your third line wingers and on the power play. 3 mm isnt exactly excessive.

In terms of K'Andre or a 3rd... come on man that's like us asking to swap a 3rd for Suzuki</div></div>
There is no way the rangers would include Miller in any trade that wasnt franchise altering. You're basically asking for 2 first round pick one who will be a top ten prospect when they do the midseason prospect updates. Miller is a beast.

Just switch chytl and kappo to their natural positions. I dont think WPG does the deal, but considering how negotiations with Laine seem to be going, its not terrible value. Tho that nashville trade is a pipe dream.

ana trade
I think a lot of ranger fans on this board and everywhere else have this theory that the rangers rookies and 2nd year players are all going to play up to their potential next year. I dont. It takes a second. Is there probably more for D'Angelo then Shore, sure, but Im trying to get under the cap and find "veteran" players with upside. That trade could also be a 2nd that becomes a 1st. or 2 seconds. I really need people on this board in general to stop trading players with nmc's to places theyd never accept a trade, but Shat to California is probably a possibility.

Shattenkirk has a no trade clause. he's not going anywhere he doesnt want to. One assumes thats a last place team geographically the furthest away from where he wants to live.

I think this is the worst Ive seen. Lets trade guys who wont waive no movement clauses (hank Shatty) and sign guys for contracts that are unrealistic of terrible. The only trade the rangers might even consider of these is the edm one and that doubtful. The rangers pass on all of these trades.

I cant tell if Calgary is trying to win a cup or get younger. So i split it. You're probably right on Namesnikov in terms of the draft pick. But GMs and especially coaches value the type of swiss army knife Names is. If calgary is trying to win this year, they'd include dube in a trade. Maybe not this exact trade though.

Gusev and more major moves READ DESCRIPTION
I dont think they trade fast. This is a team that while the rebuild has gone a lot faster then expected, they shouldnt expect all those young players to play at a non rookie level for this year. I think they look at the team as making the playoffs in 2021/22 and pushing for it in 2020 and as such the trades would reflect that. Unless something ridiculous like trouba falls in their laps again. I also think they want veterans on every line. I tend to think the 4 most likely players they would trade in order are: Names, Krieder, Strome and then d'angelo (bc some team might fall in love). trade any one of the first 3 and bo smith and they are under the cap for the year. also i just dont see them trading the gorgieg with the expansion draft next year. In 2 years all of the bad contracts on defense will be gone anyway.
