Thats worse for the Oilers from a cap standpoint and Foegele plays PK, probably still a no. I'm a Canucks fan as well though so maybe an Oilers fan will come around and counter offer

Canucks would have to add a 3rd at least to make it work, and that's if Edmonton likes Myers & Pearson. Pearson = Puljujarvi but Puljujarvi is higher upside, Barrie > Myers and the money is very Vancouver favoured here.

As a Canucks fan this is tempting and while I don't think I'd agree, it's close, which I think would make it fair due to bias.

Bo Stays Kuzmenko Out
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dannibalcorpse</b></div><div>Holl's not really a cap dump. He's a bottom-pair RHD who can hold his own on the middle pair if you need him there. $2M is a totally acceptable cap hit for a guy like that.
There's also less of a need for the Leafs to free up cap in the near future if Muzzin's going to be LTIR the rest of the season. They're obviously not accruing cap space, but they've got ~$5M to play with right now without having to make any other moves.</div></div>
Holl's contract is very moveable but Schenn is better than Holl and is cheaper. Niemela for Rathbone is a fair deal but Niemela is a righty which is worth more on the open market and the difference of Holl and Schenn should be enough to bridge that gap in value (that may or may not exist).

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>I don't understand. Why do Canucks fans want to continue with same high priced guys that have really led them nowhere. Trade Horvat for assets, and use the cap wisely next summer (shoulda done that with Miller too.)
Don't see how a 2m, 20m a night RHD is a cap dump. No thanks from the Leafs. Now you might get an OK return for Schenn, but it makes no sense for the Leafs (or really any team) to just exchange RHD. And you want Niemela too?^^</div></div>
Rathbone is included in this deal, he's a really high regarded defense prospect. I figured with Leafs' commitment to Liljegren, Niemela is exposable, and Canucks commitment to Hughes, Rathbone is. A good swap for teams who have needs for younger guys on opposite hands. Schenn is a better player than Holl for half the price, and the Leafs need cap space. Here is Rathbone's DB if you're interested: https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=201640

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aedoran</b></div><div>The only team that can currently offer Horvat 8 years is Vancouver.
Detroit won't be buying at the TDL.</div></div>
It would be a sign & trade, Detroit isn't necessarily "buying" here, it's a hockey trade where you get a London Ontario native who grew up a wings fan who's currently 2nd in goals in the league for a 2nd pairing RHD that would fit well with Quinn Hughes and cap space. Myers is included to allow Detroit to continue to contend for a wildcard spot without Hronek, and Detroit isn't exactly pressed for cap space right now so to me it fits.

Chicago & Khaira is pretty flexible here, could be any team with lots of cap space trying to hit the floor that have a 4th line winger available, that want prospects like Dipietro and/or Woo. Could be Montreal, Arizona, etc.
I believe the Canucks org is done with Woo & DiPietro, so those to me would be shipped out as payment for the bad contracts instead of draft picks.

Philly would have to add more. Garland is worth a middle 1st and Pearson is worth a 2nd. Adding the Canucks 1st puts them way over in value.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>IcemanJoe</b></div><div>From MN standpoint it’s Miller’s contract extension that presents the problem. We love the player, just can’t afford him. And they wouldn’t do this deal for a rental. So I’d bet MN rejects unless Miller signed a team friendly extension, on a team he’s yet to play for lol. Seems highly unlikely.
Trading Dumba clears 6 mil cap. Jost 2 mil.
The Dead cap hit increases two mil the next two season. So we clear 6 million in space. And Miller wants what 8/9/10 mil per? Numbers just don’t add up unless we have another cap casualty.
I’d love for us to find a way to get Miller, I just don’t think we make the other necessary moves to clear cap for it to happen.</div></div>
Miller is looking at around 9x6 - 8x8 range. With cap increases (1m per season) and Miller being on the team making Minnesota a cup contender, the lesser contracts would be likely to be signed cheaper at a discount. I could see Guerin making the money work, but it would definitely be tight. It really relies on Boldy and Addison's rfa contracts and how they perform leading up to them.

my 2nd fav team
As both a Sens & Canucks fan, these trades seem pretty off.
1. Garland alone is worth more than that return. Myers doesn't have negative value in the Canucks' eyes.
2. Miller fetches Kravstov, Lundkvist, 2nd + either Kakko or a 1st extra.
3. Habs trade is good
4. Pearson was worth at least a 2nd rounder at the deadline, hard to believe he's fallen all the way to a 4th.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>IcemanJoe</b></div><div>I don’t think this trade makes Van or MN happy. Miller doesn’t seem like a fit in MN given our cap issues.
To make this work long term for us, MN would have to move another salary (on the books for 2023-2024 or longer), not just Dumba. As his salary is off the books after next season anyways (he’s unlikely to re-sign). And MN would need to sign Miller to an extension, which I don’t see happening.
Van would likely want more for Miller with an extension in place.
I could certainly be wrong, but this feels like a lose lose trade.</div></div>
This is stretching how much the Canucks would be able to get, IMO. They could take dead cap back, but Minnesota doesn't seem to have any (entire team is on good contracts except for the two buyouts).

Miller isn't a rental in this case. Deal only goes through on an extension being signed. Also Dumba, Jost, 1st and a 2nd isn't 3 1sts and 2 2nds in value...
