Nonono. The Flames are supposed to accept junk for an acceptable(ish) top line center.
Buffalo would immediately have a top 5 top 2 after the trade and the Flames get no tangible benefit.

How about why those things happen - like being on the top line is conducive to Ozone starts. Also he has positive Corsi and Fenwick most of his career according to hockey reference.
Take into account that Eichel would take away the opponent's best defensive players and you get 80 point Monahan on your second line.

This sounds like someone who has not really watched Flames games - his defensive game has increased drastically in the last year.

Also, Monahan doesn't need to have better defensive metrics than a ****ing defenseman.

Oh no, I would do that, depends what Reinhart resigns for though, not a ton of cap room for the Flames.

I love how people overrate magic beans. Monahan is a producer who has hit 80 points and consistently a 30 goal guy.
Cozens just had a year in junior, so do many players who turn into nothing.

Who says no first CHI Toews
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>thesaadfather</b></div><div>You realize that a trade has to benefit both teams right? This does nothing for Chicago. They have enough scoring wingers that are going to be highly paid. Saad is going to be sold off because we need cap space after next year. As nice as Johnny Hockey is, he’s a scoring winger, and the Hawks have that already in Kane, Debrincat, and Kubalik. They’re not going to downgrade their 1C, lose one of their top 4 D, and have less cap space in the long term just to add to a strength. This legitimately makes the Hawks worse for the next 3 years.</div></div>
Chicago gets 2 younger forwards to help build the new team around and it decreases their time to contend. The present value of future assets.
It all comes down to whether JH is willing to go anywhere that isn't Calgary, NJ, or Philly.

PHI Blockbuster TEMPLATE
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AH96</b></div><div>Couturier is by far the best player in the trade, the rest a close 2nd and arguments could be made for all. Gaudreau a few years ago is the best player in this group but hasn't he taken a step back? I think the most valuable piece Calgary has to offer Philly is Lindholm or Giordano. Lindholm is arguably the Flames best forward and Gio would bring amazing veteran presence to the Flyers young blueline.</div></div>
No He hasn't taken a step back - 1 down year does not equate to a step back. You are right that Lindholm probably has the most value.

Marner is elite and is yet to hit his prime. Guadreau disappears in the playoffs and is going to want big money in 2 years. No thanks. Marner is better by a wide margin</div></div>
Woah Woah Woah, I am all for disagreeing on hockey player value but you take what you said about Lucic back, who else is going to frost their tips and bang in 10 garbage goals a year for that price?
his only playoff run of note he had 9 points in 11 games, so that is not really disappearing. He does not take over games like a Mackinnon but calling him invisible just means you do not watch flames games and only look at stats.
Okay - I need some legitimate proof of "wide-margin" and not your homerist heresy, because the way I look at it, they are almost the same player but Johnny is cheaper right now.
