AJF should replace Hagelin
it amazes me that Buffalo could find a roster spot for him... kid is really talented. Speed and grit looks like he has some solid offensive upside also ( more than Hags lol)

And sure, we need space but not $10M of it. We can find top room for McMichael next year while Lapierre cookes in the AHL.</div></div>
I second this opinion. With Schultz potentially leaving and Kempny almost certainly leaving, it gives the caps some space to play around with, without having to trade Kuz. Only think I would add is that I would guess that perhaps DC looks to move Eller in order to play Lap/CMM.

Mantha out
This seems like quite an overreaction.
From what I've seen I think Mantha has been pretty good, and I think he has played pretty well with Eller and Sprong. Should we trade him however, Olofsson is a great return.
Samsonov looks... shaky for sure but I'd give him some more time to try and iron it out. It seemed to take him a bit to get up to speed last year and it seems to be happening again this year but I don't think we should be giving up on him yet.

Well, the whole team struggled, which is generally what happens when half the squad is out all at the same time for like two months. The Blues might be interested in something similar to this, but it depends on other things happening first.

Also had a new coach w a new system.... finished the year hot with 16p in 20 gp. the year before that he was on pace for like 70 points.... is 70 points bad now days or are people on this site really putting that much stock into a down year? the guys had 3 coaches in 5 years? lol . that's the issue with this site people get on board with stupid narratives and ignore facts.... Kuzy and Forsberg has very similar stats you think NASH is moving him for a late 1st no bc they arent idiots</div></div>

Based on Tarik El Bashirs The Athletic article
Honestly, I protect Jensen over TVR, and here’s why.
Losing TVR means we don’t lose anyone who was a regular in our lineup last year. Yes he’s cheap and that makes him an attractive option for Seattle, but if that’s what keeps them from taking a guy like Vanecek, I absolutely sacrifice that.
Jensen showed some really good play for the entirety of the 21 season. Arguably one of our best defensemen. I put him in the top 4, ship Schultz out, and sign/trade for a bottom pair RHD on a cheaper deal.
I doubt that Dillon is the one selected, but if he is, agree that Suter should at least be looked at for a one year deal. I think I prefer just running Orlov Fehervary Kempny, but Suter is a good insurance option to split time with Kempny. Nobody should be taking Fehervary’s ice time. He looked good in 18-19 and deserves a regular spot this year.
Also like adding raffl back if he wants to come back for cheap. We could use him in case of injuries for sure.

Suter
Why don't the Caps just play their damn young guns? We've had three first round exits in a row. Partly because we're always old and slow and injured. What's the logic of not playing some promising young guns? Other teams do it. Are we scared of...exiting the playoffs early because of inexperience? It's already happening.
Play the young guns.

I’m not a big stats guy. The “eye” test however is definitely favoring Kuzy big time especially with his playoff performance I’ve seen

Reading between the lines of the GM it sounds like they aren't "determined" to move him. Like I don't think they are saying to themselves "we have to move him no matter what". Think it's preferable but won't send him away just to send him away, they'll want something worthwhile back. But who knows what they actually think. We'll see.

ITS ACTUALLY HAPPENING
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TrueCanuck</b></div><div>Nah man. I've had Capitals fans on here tell me that McMicheal is an "A+ prospect that's going to be a stud" some even said he was as valuable as Lafreniere because in McMicheal's draft +1 season he scored slightly under the pace of what Lafreniere did in Lafreniere's draft eligible season.
I'm impressed to see a Caps fan like you realize what he really is and not overhype him off 1 junior season.</div></div>
Exactly the impression I've had, most Caps fans are in over their heads about CMC to a point of no return.
If this guy doesn't translate great to the NHL I feel a huge part of your fanbase will get depression-like symptoms and like you said there's no way on earth anyone with talent lifts a NTC/NMC to go where players go to die. <a href="/users/staytru20" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@staytru20</a>

He won his cup now he just wants money I’m sure a lot of players would do the same. The stupid thing is that Washington would even sign that deal if you wanna keep yourself out of cap problems and try to find other ways to contend move on from ovi he’s not who he once was, he’s lazy he cherry picks and all he does in the offensive zone is stand in one spot and goalies and dmen are starting to take advantage of that because they no longer need to worry about where ovi is coming from. His time is passed it’s time for him to hand off the torch to the next generation of scorers matthews, pasta, rantanen, debrincat, kaprizov</div></div>
What an odd take.

iwould try him at 3LW with Eller and Oshie... 2 great vets would take a lot of pressure off him
