That’s what we see, just so you understand.
Kassian is garbage and a liability. Stalock is of no use, we just traded a young goalie with far more potential because they have no room for him.

I agree with that, I just used Edmonton because I saw a couple Edmonton fans trade for him

The assets St. Louis is receiving from Edmonton are exempt from the expansion draft, and Tarasenko is such a valuable piece that the Blues should try pushing this trade ahead of the expansion draft. If Holland agreed then Armstrong would be able to protect a different player.

Not sure what OEL value is either but I feel like EDM would have to offer a little bit more, Maybe a mid tier prospect? I don't know tho

Other Fanbases Whats the Cost
Thinking that broberg (who is my top choice), Bouchard (my number two) and holloway (#3) are untouchable. I would be looking at Lavoie, one of the goalie prospects with good upside (I don't know enough about them to judge), a first and a second.
If you want to talk about cap coming back then I would need to talk one of those first 3 guys. Just my opinion.

Bertuzzi, comparable to the Mantha trade in value, maybe a smidge less.
1st and either useful roster player of suitable age in need of a change of scenery or Solid A-/B+ Prospect.
In my opinion, some will want more, I get it.
Assuming mid first 15-20 range.

No thanks on that Zucker deal. The value is there, but we can’t take a chance on a streaky winger and hope that he will find his game, and become a better non streaky winger. We need to compete right now… we shouldn’t take big risks like that, especially since the man is making 5.5M.

Possible Bruins OffSZN_V3
I don’t want to hate, nor do I want to be rude, but yah Edmonton can’t, and doesn’t do it. I believe DeBrusk would be a great fit, but I wouldn’t give more than a second round pick for him, because of the season he has had, and his contract. People will get annoyed and rude if they don’t agree, and that’s okay! That’s why everyone has an opinion, and we don’t all have to agree. This is a decent attempt, but Moore is a cap dump, Ullmark will get 3.5-5M range, Coleman shouldn’t get more than 4M. Don’t let them bring you down.

Right. 2.3M QO is a 3rd round pick. And Edmonton wouldn’t be near that for him. So if they wanted him, the offer sheet would only cost the Pens like a 5th-6th round pick.

Why is every Edmonton fan trying to trade Kahun’s rights back to the Pens.
He didn’t really fit with the team when he was here. He takes shifts off and got into Sully’s doghouse. He was a healthy scratch a lot of games.
And now Hextall and Burke want a back-up vet goalie. And size and physical players. Kahun fits even less now.

Laine to FLA and Jones to PHI
In terms of value, I think I would do that trade from the Oilers perspective to get rid of Neal's contract. In the background we would have to have a plan to replace Bear as he's pencilled in for top 4 minutes and we don't have anyone waiting to replace him.
I see you're poaching Larsson too... 2/3 of Oilers RHD from last year. I think you'd have to overpay a bit with Larsson to lure him. He's a guy that seems happy here and is part of the leadership group (he wears an A) and rumours for the last while are Oilers are offering a similar contract. With him already settled here and Edmonton likely to be a playoff team, seems like you'd have to put more on the contract to get him to move to another smaller market and into a rebuild situation. Trust me, as an Oilers fan I'm used to having to watch my team overpay to lure UFAs.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>themacriley</b></div><div>Although I agree with the logic, I think an unspoken aspect is the actual buyout cost. It isn't AAV split, but remaining contract value (actual cost).</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Marcsnack</b></div><div>I get your POV, but EDM could just buyout Neal for $1.9M for 4 years.. much better than giving up 2 seconds or a first.</div></div>
That’s the route I would take if I’m EDM. Or retain salary and trade him to a team that will take him for a 3rd, 4th and/ or prospect.
