Creative deadline still competing
I don't see why the Penguins would ever do the Blues trade other to bring Saad back to Pittsburgh. Rakell a much better player and younger.
Pens would definitely never trade for Wennberg. He is nothing but a glorified shutdown 4C getting paid copious amount of money compared to skill level.

He doesn’t fit well with Crosby and Malkin.
Penguins are more interested in a first round pick, Podkolzin, and probably Hoglander.</div></div>
Sullivan would immediately say no due to lack of effort by Kuzmenko, but I think the precedent of the trade was to solidify a true Russian line for Geno.

I would be careful how loosely you use the term quality. Yes Kaliyev could still be something with a move but he is far from his original draft value. Laferriere is nothing but a middle of the pack winger and Turcotte is the main piece of the trade going back. Kings are immediate playoff contenders with this trade. Right now their best winger is Kempe who is doing very little despite playing next to Kopitar. Through Guentzel in there and Kopitar all of a sudden is back at his peak.

Year 2 Oilers Bonino Dadanov
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Alfie11</b></div><div>This seems like a pretty hot take honestly. My view is that Hallander MIGHT be a middle six winger or bottom 6 centre in 2 years if he stays healthy. He's one of Pittsburgh's best prospects but that's saying very little considering Pittsburgh has the shallowest prospect pool in the league apart from San Jose (and he's not close to the best Pens prospect, he's maybe 3rd best? 4th?). From what I've read on him, he needs to develop more of an offensive side to his game in Sweden next season, and then likely needs a year of AHL conditioning before trying to jump into the NHL. Good prospect, not great prospect. The Pens likely take much more value from the 3.25mil cap room now than Hallander will provide before the end of the Crosby/Malkin era</div></div>
Problem is the Crosby/Malkin era is over and we need to be able to at least compete once they are truly gone.

Pittsburgh taking a gamble with Andersen for a year
Toronto would never take the deal. Anderson is a solid goalie and has held a starting job for two different teams. He would be even better if Toronto had a mediocre defense. I don't think Murray is even worth 1-1 with Anderson right now and I am a Pens fan.

The Ottawa trade is terrible. I understand we are clearing space, but people need to get out of this crap mentality that JR is in. Stop emptying every good prospect and pick to maybe win a cup. Hallander is going to be a top six center/wing and could even be on the Pens next season. Unless you all have some "in" with Ottawa and just give them all of our good players. We already lost Gustavsson.....

Pittsburgh Blockbuster
I do like the value a lot (especially Dermott), I worked for Otters and watched him grow through Juniors. Nylander would help Malkin IMO and Liljgren could be another good TWD. Rust is meshing well, but it has only been 1 1/2 seasons he has had that production and tough to see if he can withstand that form long-term. My only problem would be getting rid of Marino (good and on cheap contract). Losing ZAR won't be as big of a loss as it looks. We have a lot of guys in AHL that can do his work on bottom six. RE: Marino, the entire league knows that Toronto are hurting for salary relief and Pittsburgh could get away with giving less if giving Marino and taking Nylander contract fully.

Thread:
Should Jarry Play
I do agree that Murray has played excellent in the first two games of the series. However, aforementioned, the Pens are in two elimination games if they make it out of their first one and need to make changes. Jarry is more consistent and the Pens have not played well enough to take the brunt of the game off the goalies. If Murray gives up a bad goal or two, then he will continue doing so (look at game 3). Jarry can hold them together and make the big saves all the time even when under pressure the entire game. The third line in game 3 was god awful and the problem is glaring everyone in the eye. Marleau has not been good for the Penguins since the acquisition and should no longer warrant a spot in the lineup. The Pens have a huge x-factor in their prospect Samuel Poulin and also have others like Lafferty that typically sit on the bench. The other major problem (has been all year), is Jack Johnson. He has not been good for years and has been awful since we got him. The problem is Sullivan is a very hot and cold coach. Meaning, if he likes you, he will play you no matter what and if he doesn't like you, there will be problems. People say that Kessel is in a decline (he is) and that there was nothing he could do for the Pens anymore. I disagree and it is obvious from a follower's perspective that Sullivan did not like Kessel's laid back mentality to the game and he wedged him and Malkin apart. Malkin had a huge interview about it and how it affected his play in Kessel's final year with the Pens. Sullivan is a good coach, but does not know how to adapt and continues to try and play the same way he did when they won B2B cups. Sullivan has hit his expiration date with the Penguins and will be gone if they don't make it to at least the Conference Finals let alone make it to the actual playoffs.

This is a fun aight alot of cool things, the one not cool thing is people like 2 be rude when trades are unbalanced.
I'll try and say kinda what <a href="/users/Gabriel11" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@Gabriel11</a> said.
Ryan Ellis is a #1 RD and a top 5 RD in the league. The guy is an amazing player and honestly I'm Pittsburgh that would be scary. He also is a top 5v5 scorer. If you wanted to trade for him try and send Zucker to them with a first and the other 2 picks in ur trade. Probably won't get Bonino either.
Good work though, the team looks solid👌🏼</div></div>
I do agree that sending Zucker in the Ellis trade is more reasonable. However, sending a first and a second is not, for a team that is struggling to find goals and does not have a permanent top six. Pens would be able to send Zucker and a second for Ellis.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mhockey91</b></div><div>Way too much for labanc. Jarry for LaBanc is fair</div></div>
I do not agree what so ever that Jarry=Labanc. Value comparison is as bad as this entire trade idea overall. Getting an aging bad blueliner for two older less mobile blueliners(no thanks). Bjugstad trade is decent, but would be a big risk. Also we do not need Labanc when we already have Rodriguez, who is miles better on both sides of the puck and can play both sides of special teams and is also more versatile. Last but least, Hållander isn't going anywhere, he is our second best prospect and could have a chance playing in two years.

Not sure how Donato is considered an upgrade at all over most of the Canucks starting top 6 right now. Fiala could possibly in the future become better than Miller. However, why would you get rid of DiPietro that is easily gonna become one of the best goaltenders of his generation.

I have heard this rumor as well. Unfortunately, I have seen nothing but drastic overpayments for Barrie and with the history JR has, if that deal were to happen the overpayment would as well.

I would love to see how Virtanen(top 10 pick) and Pesce would work in that Leaf's system. I think Virtanen is still valuable and a very good winger, just not the right fit for Canucks.

That honestly would not be that bad of an option. I still believe Korpisalo in the right hands would become a glorified backup if not a solid starter and I still like Bittner a lot. Potential to still become a good bridge winger/center between top 6 and bottom 6.

If Russell can continue his current level of play I'm not sure I'd want to trade him anyhow - he's doing that well.</div></div>
I do agree. He is playing much better as of late and he would most likely be a bubble player to trade or keep.

I agree. Their defense is very shallow and right now Theodore, sorry all the time Theodore is not producing enough offense for his type of play. Ristolainen would most certainly help their D and their power play significantly. Tuch would easily replace Smith and they still have Glass.

So you are telling me, you would rather trade Nurse over Larsson? Are you secretly a Devil's fan? Nurse for those two is nothing. He is by far one of the best players on the team and if a little more offense, the best defenseman.
