Teams aren't likely to claim players right now as they prepare to have open contract slot ahead of the trade deadline. It looks to be very active this year.

Because he's just not that good and teams don't need players like him very often. Most teams have 1 or 2 of them already that they are worried about losing to waivers also.

Remember, he's having trouble staying with a Detroit lineup that hasn't been good since he arrived there. If he can't crack their lineup, can he crack many other team's?

He's quite similar to Habs Charles Hudon in that sense. I think this may be a good sign. If Frk clears chances are Habs could put Hudon on waivers and he'd clear also.

If I was the OIlers I'd claim Hudon and send JP down to the AHL, Hudon better suited for the role the Oilers are trying to give JP atm. Plus is would be cap savings of 275K to make Sekera coming back easier
