Leafs fans... this strengthens the D this season and next. Puts us in a good position even if the cap does not rise. None of us want to lose Hyman. We all love him, myself included. Don’t get too worked up because the leafs are not going to do this anyway. Babs would drag Dubas out onto Bay St. and beat the piss out of him.

Hyman is a good hard working player (with inflated stats from playing with elite centers), but I don’t this trade makes sense for either team. He’s not an upgrade in the top 6 over beauvillier and lee , and I’d rather give the 3rd lw spot to a kid. Toronto doesn’t have another player like hyman and I think he’s needed, especially after trading kadri.

Isles don't really need wingers...I think the Isles decline partly due to term and cap.

This deal would happen in when Hyman returns. If Dobson does stick in the lineup it puts mayfield down to s healthy scratch. Would be willing to add a bit more to the deal to make it happen.
