Description
We won game 1. That was one of few positives. I think our play style overall was more entertaining. Less dump and chance and more chances to transition. But chemistry wasn' t there. My thoughts below:

Getz Line: Ritchie must go. He’s just never going to pan out. We need an actual top 6 LW. I thought shore looked very good and would honestly play him there if it weren’t for his solid chemistry with Grant. I want to give Comtois that roster spot. He deserves it.
Kase looked sloppy overall. Bad passing, bad puck possession, and not a threat. I thought Terry looked poised and made some smart plays overall. Being in top 6 situations will make him that much better.

Swede Line: I think it would have been better if Steel wasnt shaky. He did just come back from a few games off and didn't get much practice in before then. I expect this line to improve in a game or two. Rakell and Silf are still fun to watch together.

Henrique Line: There wasn't a large impression here, I think Henrique himself is always pretty consistent. Not the most offensive threat, but rarely a liability. I still love Jones and want to see him do more. I think he has way more potential than he is give credit. And his chemistry from Terry stems directly from their great friendship. Reminds of some of our great duos from the past.

Elite 1 Grant Line: Nothing but positives here honestly. There's a reason this line got more TOI than getz line. Grant and Shore seemed to connect on more clean entry passes than any other players. I think maybe they are less damaged from Carlyles system having spent less time under it. They seem to get Eakins message.

I thought everyone not name Holzer played pretty solid D. I was very happy with Fowlers poise and offensive play. Lindholm and Manson were solid and shut down most threats. I think Larsson and Guhle each had decent games, respective of their pairings. I really hoped Holzer would be the guy. I don't think me make a trade quite yet. Maybe closer to November once we see if MDZ pans out.

Risto would be my first choice over Honka, but I assume the value is still to high.

My gut tells me Detroit is going to be a bad team this year so that 2nd is for intensive purposes a very late 1st rounder. Doubt Ritchie is worth that.

I think Ritchie is worth a 2nd. But Maybe not Detroits 2nd. They also have Washingtons 2nd, so maybe that would be fairer value? Considering they are almost guaranteed a playoff spot.

Yeah that would make more sense to me honestly.

You didn’t even watch the game last night. Ritchie was on the 3rd line. Steel was one of the ducks best fwds. And the Defense was awful last night.

I did watch the game. Steel had a solid second period. But I thought compared to how that line looked in preseason Steel showed some shakyness. His move and near miss from the slot was definitely a nice moment. But he missed a lot of passes, was only 20% in Faceoffs, and only recorded one SOG.

I am fairly certain Ritchie was on Getzlafs line. He definitely was at the start of the game. Not sure if that changed at some point. Unless you are consider Getz's line at third line. Regardless, I rather him be in the press box.

I think the Defense was fine. Particularly Cam. Guhle and Larsson were definitely held to less minutes and that made sense. I think Manson and Lindhold had bad moments. But for 24 Minutes TOI, that will happen. Holzer was hot garbage.
