Description
Expectations in the Blues is being able to re-sign Dunn, Pietrangelo, Blais, and I would like to see MacEachern, and Reinke signed as well.

Borgman has not really done much in the realm of being a fit for the Blues as he hasn't really played a game and hasn't done anything for us.

Husso I would look into maybe putting into some sort of deal that gets us maybe draft picks or maybe shedding some cap. I like Colten Ellis better than Husso, but that is just my opinion on that whole thing.

Forward RFAs:
RW Samuel Blais 900K-1.25M 23 y/o
C/LW Jacob De La Rose 750K-900K 24 y/o

RW Austin Poganski 700K-800K 23 y/o
C Nolan Stevens 700K-750K 23 y/o

Defenseman RFAs:
Andreas Borgman 700K-750K
Jake Dotchin 700K-750K
Vince Dunn Couple options on this contract in my opinion 5.5M for 5 Years or 3M for 2 Years.
Niko Mikkola 850K-1M
Derrick Pouliot 700K-800K
Mitch Reinke 800K-1M
Jake Walman 800K-975K

Colten Ellis G
Scott Perunovich D

Particularly Dunn and Pietrangelo are the main players that we need to sign. Pietrangelo has a couple reasons why he would stay, a lot of people think he wants to move because of money. It's definitely not the case in words of his wife. His wife wants to stay in her hometown of St.Louis right now, and I think she does some good convincing to Alex at the moment. I think he would take a little bit of a discount of about a million because he isn't of Doughty, Hedman, or Karlsson contract tier when they all signed their contracts, and also Alex is a little older as he is 30 when most of them were 28-29 when they signed their contract so a 5 Year Contract for 8 Million per year works well because he gets a contract until he is 35 years old, and it becomes a contract he likes if we add in a No Movement Clause, or a No Trade Clause, and I personally think that Blues should do that to ensure that Pietrangelo will stay and to assure him that he is going to be here a long time.

Dunn I feel is very close to what Parayko was when he signed so I think around the same contract wouldn't hurt the Blues, and it certainly wouldn't hurt Dunn, but I also feel Dunn has a lot more to prove to get a better contract, so maybe sign him a 2 Year 3 Million Dollar Contract so by that time you can get him his long needed long term contract as he is probably wanting right now. This also gives us a little time to be cap inclined as Perron, Bozak, Steen, and a couple other contracts will be over by the time his contract is up.

Allen right now has a .926 Sv Pct and also has a 5-1-2 record so giving this he can actually be worth something at this point to a team that could really use him as a starter while a team is maybe trying to insert a young gun Goalie. I think a team such as Columbus who is stuck with Korpisalo at the moment could use Allen pretty well until Kivlenieks is ready to take on the starting role.

Blues have more than enough Right Handed Defenseman, but look to be a little short when it comes to Left handed Defenseman so trying to get a Left Handed Defenseman for Bortuzzo is a smart option. Looking within the organization I feel we have overpacked ourselves on Defenseman leaving no room for Alexandrov or Joshua. Barbashev or Bozak should probably head out the door by the end of the year.

I wouldn't sign Puljujarvi for that much just yet. One year, 1 to 1.5 mil prove it to me type of deal. Allen I like minus Tyler Bozak. The only reason to trade him is to make room for Thomas as a permanent 3c instead of part time. Sundqvist is good, but keeping him in a 4c role is ideal.
Johnsson is unnecessary as he would be max 2nd line winger which the Blues already have plenty of in Blais. He's not going to move down Schwartz at all.

Toronto might be willing to make the Bortuzzo deal (not sure he's a huge upgrade on what they have) but I don't see why they'd move Johnsson for Barbashev.

Although getting Washkurak would be great for me, as I know his family and would love to see him in a Leafs sweater.

Barbashev is cheaper and can play centre or wing. It would be worth it

I have no desire whatsoever to trade away Barby. Less than zero. Especially when dealing him away adds like $2M to our cap. He is a penalty slayer, helps shut down top lines, skates, hits, has skill and a cheap ass contract, and is still just 22 so he could well become more than the 15-goal, 15-assist guy he is now (not that there's anything wrong with that). Trading Barby is a non-starter. In a salary cap age, he is one of the highest value players in the entire league.

I have only slightly more interest in rolling the dice on Puljujärvi, especially when we have our own offensive winger prospects that need time and seasoning. Besides, Sanford seems to be coming into his own with regards to consistent efforts. Frankly, the way this team has responded to staying together, I'm not inclined to make a slew of trades. Probably dealing Bozak (who may become redundant) and/or Allen to shed cap. It's terrible, but I kinda wish Steener would do us a solid and hang em' up.

Also think we may need to find a different trade partner to deal Allen, who is definitely increasing in value these days. Maybe Detroit again and Ottawa. There will be better back-ups available as UFAS next summer (though a couple may cost a little more than Korpisalo).

The rest looks reasonable, I dig it.
