Not really. Rakell's had 2 good seasons which he was helped by his line mates. Realistically he's about a 20-25 goal scorer on a good contract for 2 more years after this one..

That's a damn good offer from New York and probably the price to pay. Slight overpayment but it'll take an overpayment to get a deal done. Doubt anyone would offer more than a 1st round pick, top prospect, and another very good prospect.

Added Lemieux, DeAngelo and Strome
Still under the cap and that with Staal, Smith and Lundqvist still on the roster
IMO DeAngelo and Georgiev will be gone and replaced with Lundkvist and Shesterkin leaving more then enough cap space for Rakell

The guy above is right, if Rakell became available another team would beat that offer.

He is a top 6 winger making under 4 million, a cap strapped team would pay a hefty price to get him while clearing some cap space.
