If this is why Dubas made the Kap trade, he will be exiled...

PK is not worth it even at 4.5 retained for free. He is not the answer the Leafs are looking for. NJ is better off holding onto him and letting their young talent develop.

It appears it's more along the lines of a cap dump- I am not too familiar with the ins and outs of the blues cap situation but idk if they can resign AP if both Bozak and Steen are on the roster. Dump them both to NJ with a sweetner and you may be able to resign AP. I think that's what the OP's logic was behind the deal
