Description
This is a next year fix to the Buffalo Sabres. All contract projections via 2020 Evolving Hockey contract projections. Only UFAs for D. A couple RFA's from last year but looks like a new team. Plus more players fall off the cap next year which allows team to sign Joki & Dahlin & then reevaluate roster.

Danault is statistically a below average C. Better offensively then defensively. Montreal has two future young centers. With the trade they get a young potential top 6 forward & a young bottom 6 forward which they need. This fills their need for a 3rd line center & top 6 forward. Win-win.

Gaudreau is a dump by Calgary. They are acquiring a young top 4 D man in Montour & another young top 6 d man in Pilut. They could use an elite blue line. On top receive 8th 2nd round which will still have potential to hit key players & next years sabres first (which we have seen the sabres have not trended well to making the playoffs). Its a good trade & allow Calgary to gain more support offensively & defensively with an affordable, youthful, blue line.

Last trade is questionable but might be worth it for Pens. If they are running for the cup again they would probably love another offensive defensemen to round out their scoring. Risto offers that & they trade their backup in Jarry & keep Murray since he already has won them a cup. Stick with what you know.

Literally the only line of this that's true is that MTL has teo young centers, then goes on to say we desperately need young centers...in the end this doesn't get you Danault

No sure Montreal would want 2 more centers to add to the mix.

I don't know who Lawerence Pilut, but as a Flames fan - I'd have a tough time saying 'no' to that trade.

It's a no brainer if you keep the 1st and change Lawerence to Cozens.

Why would Buffalo ever entertain trading Cozens, Pilut is the promising Dman that walked out on Botterill because he refused to give him a chance in the NHL even though Pilut was killing it in the A
